Yesterday Friday 26 Dec 2025 1 days' growth. Same again, Rocket HD, Permasharp, Christmas Eve and the almighty Omega Boar 10049. Finished in the usual Dec style with Proraso Rinfrescante and Stirling Spice. No damage, so I must be doing something right. Shave free day today. Just a few more shaves with this setup It has been worthwhile, but looking forward to a change up very soon.
Thanks Chris..All the best to you and the family for the New Year, wishing you peace happiness good health & contentedness for 2026.
Today's shave was a 9.5/10 as I used dial 7 the whole time after a small bit seeing it was on dial 6 with micro moustache cut getting a nearly a BBS shave, the next level up. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 4 bottom side/18 total. I do flip the blade over around 14--16 and count the flipped side amount with also a total overall. I do feel this blade is going to die sooner because I am skipping a day or sometimes more between the shaves. I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era shaver, my model without the case. I shaved after the shower, so no need to even use water on my face, however I did keep the blade/head of shaver wet. I did need to do 1 partial clean in middle of the shave and did a final full clean at the end of the shave and more cleaning at the very end for the touch up.
9.5/10 'aint 'alf bad Casey don't sweat the blade let it die and unwrap a nice new fresh one good way to start the new year
28 Dec 2025 2 Days growth Soap = Stirling Christmas Eve Do’nut starting to show, but I won’t be able to finish this sample puck this year. These sample pucks from Stirling last a long time Brush = Omega 10049 Bowl = white plastic Razor = Rocket HD Blade = Permasharp Day 5 Passes = 2 and touch ups Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal ASL = Proraso green Rinfrescante Scent = Stirling Spice December Damage = minor speed bump over pimple Another “No sweat” shave from the Rocket HD Getting to be quite routine at this stage, I will hang out with this setup till the last shave of December in respect of, and in keeping with the goal of this thread. Definitely want to make Joe @Trigger proud of his 30 Day team and feel his time at the helm has not been in vain Have a Great Day everyone.
Awesome shave and thanks for your diligence in doing your focus for the last month of our thread. Going forward, one day you will do another focus on a razor that gives you a difficult challenge, but you will overcome it because of your successful focus.
I will let the blade die when it dies which is soon, I am guessing around 20 shaves due to often skipping a day. The issue is with the micro cut, due in part to ripping out a hair and causing me to get a very micro cut. Every now and then with the mistake hard to read logo names from 2017 100 pack of Personna made in USA, I have a blade randomly as usual that was not super great from the get go but the one I am using currently was still fairly usable when I noticed this in shave 4 or 5, better than a bad blade from the Chinese King C Gillette as those thin blades can get all warped in shipping/production. I can't wait until I am only using the other set of current modern blades in the 100 pack of Personna made in USA and all that is left besides my FEYIU, Chinese King C Gillette blades and last of the good King C Gillette from the other set all as my backup blades. What I will do then is put those blades into a container because the box is falling apart unlike the other no logo on blade 100 pack of Personna made in USA that I used packing tape on to keep normal as I opened up the set correctly on this set just leaving a gap in the back side cutting off material on the cover to replace the blades with more blades, so the blades inside are not all floppy. I do want to try using my shaver with a good blade worn to the point I am needing Dial 9, but where the blade is still cutting well at least one time to know how to do so should I need to use a blade like this in an emergency situation.
