Shaved with TOBS Rose for the first time this morning. Wonderful shave. Finished with a splash or Roberts Rose Water. But I much prefer an alcohol and glycerin aftershave. splash. Any aftershave splash suggestions that will complement this cream? Thanks, -Ady
I believe DR Harris Pink is one that gets tossed around as matching a rose cream or soap. I shaved TOBS Rose a few days ago too. The scent is so light and nearly gone after the shave that I think you could go w/ any AS you want. Also what are your tastes? What do you like? Go with those.
Victorian Rose Thanks for the recommendations. I just found the Victorian Rose you mentioned. I see it as a cologne, and that looks very interesting. Not sure if it's available as an aftershave - I don't see it on the list of aftershaves. I know some guys use witch hazel as an aftershave, and Thayers makes a non-alcohol rose witch hazel.
And it's very nice. I was going to edit my post to mention the Rose Petal Thayers but got busy. Anyway it's a very light and refreshing rose scent. The aroma does linger in the background for an hour or two and then it's gone.
Send JoAnna a PM about it. She would most likely be able to whip up a bottle of Rose aftershave for you. She is pretty flexible.
JoAnna's aftershaves are quite good as well and very competitively priced, so it would be hard to go wrong with them.
Aqua Velva Musk has alcohol and glycerin in it and while it dosen't smell like rose I think it will be a nice follow up to the TOBS Rose shave cream. The Musk is cheap so why not give it a try?
I just got my Victorian Rose AS in the mail today. Thanks JoAnna. I look forward to trying it out tomorrow.
stole my thunder.......... The AV Musk is awesome but is so overpowering that a little goes forever. I cut it with Thayers Rose Petal WH and make a really nice AS that smells fantastic. Rose goes well with the musk.
