T&H Grafton - it irritates my skin (scent is good, but thankfully not my favorite) Trumper's Eau De Portugal - Sets off my wife's athsma
I cannot use anything with very much lavender in it. Hell, most strongly scented soaps and creams burn my old skin anymore though..........
Though I haven't even come close to trying all the various types, FO's typically don't treat my skin very well. EO's are better. Bay Rum and Lilac FO both burned my skin.
good answers this is what i was looking for. i read that Almond scents might not be for people with sensitive skin and wanted to know what other scents might irritate people or a particular brand that might do it. even though im not sure i have overly sensitive skin. i know i cant use shave gels since they burn my lip area if i dont shave it off within a few seconds but other than that i guess im ok.
All canned goo iritates my skin. I shaved with nothing but water and a Mach 3 before discovering wet shaving. Grafton is the only real cream or soap to give me a problem (it's the scent - same problem with ASB and other scents are fine). I'd add that I don't let this turn me away from T&H, I really like and get along with most of their stuff.
My list is growing. Anything with menthol (which means Musgo Real, Proraso, et al.) For some reason, IK soap... TOBS Avocado, it burns ussss!!! The Rose is borderline. And maybe C&E Sweet Almond Oil, which is all for the better.
I do. Not a lot, not like some of the products I've used (e.g. Ingrams) but by the end of the 1st pass I felt a distinct tingle, and into the 2nd I was downright irritated.
TOOBS Cream - Mr. Taylor I guess it is his scent, not mine. When it arrived in the mail I opened the tub and immediately said to myself... "This smells like someone else, not me." I guess that's what I get for ordering something called "Mr. Taylor.":sick007
Meh. None so far, I'm even fine with Vetiver( I actually like the stuff) So no creams bug me so far. As far as aftershaves go, I'm not a fan of Old Spice, hated it growing up. I don't like Aqua velva or Brute or anything along those lines, my most toxic stuff Id say is Pinaud's Lime Sec ( wife thinks it smells like Lemon Pledge) and Pinaud's Classic Clubman or Lilac vegatal. I've never tried Musgo, or Proraso either, but I'm not a fan of Mint or Menthol, neither does anything good for my skin. I mean how can a cooling effect help you? Honestly, I think it would just close your pores and make it harder to get a close shave, ihmo. I have a jar of Fresh Mint from Cyril Salter, I'll probably use it in the summer only. sorry to ramble here gents, blame wife she's on the end of a 2 hr bathroom routine now, ugh, luckily she's hot. lol Cheers D
Proraso really starts to burn me if I don't get it shaved off quickly. The 'Proraso Peel' - I guess it is likely the menthol - owwww. I hardly ever touch it because of that.
I've tried two EdC's I don't like; Trumpers Eucris and Wellington, I find them horrible combined with my skin The Kinze Ten EdT is still in the scales, I haven't really figured that one out yet, but at least I can wear it.
Any vanilla scented fragrances make me grossed out--I detest them. They don't mix well with my body chemistry. As far as shaving creams which I don't like: I threw away something like 45 cream tubes last week, mostly brands from Pakistan like Confident, Gypsy, Omega, Samsol, Berg, and a bunch of others. I hate Proraso Green cream also, because even though it's got great cooling to it and excellent lather, the scent to me is not nice, and it dries my skin badly.
