So, my wife says to me: "some day, you need to teach your son how to shave with a razor instead of the electric shavers you've been using your entire life". And I spend about five minutes on the internet, and learn that safety/straight razor shaving is the way to go. Who know!? So now apparently I need to teach myself a new life skill. Oh well, I think I've used up about as much of my life on Basenotes as I need to choose for him the greatest of men's colognes, so now here I am to learn from the pros at TheShaveDen. I'm up to the challenge - let the learning begin! Yay, a new obsession to obsess over! Oh yeah, count me in on the free stuff too.
I'm in! My facial hair is bad and I need constant shaving to not look like a 16 yo. moped gangster. :ashamed001 One year ago I startled on DE shavers. Having fond memories of my grandfather using one I gave it a go. Bought a merkur HD, Edwin Jagger Aloe Vera soap, Merkur blades and Zirh shave gel. After a couple of cuts and rashes I started getting good shaves. After a while I purchased AoS shaving cream/pre-shave oil, D.R. Harris Marlborough soap and a real badger brush. I'm hooked looking forward to the soothing ritual of shaving after a nice bath. When on a trip in Stockholm I stumbled on a shop with old stuff I asked and found an old gilette DE. It is a bit more aggressive giving a closer shave but still less irritating on my skin. What a bargain! After doing some research I found this forum and a thread by MTgrayling and I now knew that the DE shaver was a Gilette Rocket. :thanks Best Regards
New Wet Shaver One of my good friends got me interested in wet shaving very recently. I suffer from ingrown hair breakouts and he said this might be a solution. He helped me order my first safety razors and a 1902 Gem Razor. Once my boar hair brush gets here, I will be attempting my first wet shave.
Free! Free is good, especially since I'm trying to outfit 3 of us into the world of wet shaving as expalined in my newbies thread. Count me in!

You guys and gals really make this a newbie friendly place. All the prizes will come in handy, and I'll be sure to share with the family shavers. Actually I will probably PIF some of the goodies to 2 guys at work that I got interested in wet shaving this week. JoAnna, please give me a day or so to choose the scents from the lists provided. I'm going to let my SWMBO and daughter choose the scents. Once again, thanks all! :thanks
