I got it today and I was little disappointed due the aggressive smell . although the lather is better than the soap I'm using (tabac) . anyone think the same ?
Oh, yeah, Klaus, the scent is wonderful. But, I must be allergic to something in the cream, because my skin got badly irritated. I gave it away after just 2 shaves.
Sandalwood is a different type animal. First....true EO will burn the hell out of some's faces..me! I have also yet to smell 2 Sandalwood creams or soaps that smelled the same? I enjoy the AOS and I think the Trumpers but havent used the TOBS.
I think this is because true Sandalwood EO is so expensive that most sandalwoods are just blends of fragrances.
I left it in the closet . the smell is to rough for me . even when I touched it a bit with my hands , the refused to get off easly .
I'll take it off your hands if you don't like it. I love the stuff! At first I was put off by the strong scent of this cream, but I was using the Col. Conks Bay Rum soap for a few months before I got this so you could imagine my shock the first time I unscrewed the top and stuck my honker in there and took a big whiff! I have used this cream now for about 50% of my shaves in the past month and I have to say I look forward to using it every time. I have several other flavors of Taylor's on the way but from the other reviews, I can expect the same excellent product. I will be replacing this tub when it is gone!

In my week or so of using it non-canned creams, TOBS sandalwood has been the absolute best. The scent is stronger the warmer it is, but at room temperature the scent is mild, and does not linger long after being rinsed off. I have also used Clubman's cream (in a tube), Omega (in the black tub), and Proraso (in the green tub). I like all of them, but none really compare to the TOBS.
At 1st, I thought the scent was too strong, my wife on the otherhand, totally loves it. After a couple days of use, I got used to it. Now I kinda enjoy it (still not my favorite tho). In my case, the scent last for a good part of the day. More so than any other cream or soap i've tried. Mind you, haven't tried many others (4 total).
