Smell them and tell us. Your nose isn't my nose, or anyone else's here. Any questions asking what's "the best" can only really answered by going out and trying for *yourself*. What one guy may like might make another guy sick. And vice versa.

Of those 3, I would have to say shaving shop. However, of the entire line, my favorite is Mr. Taylor. I chose shaving shop because it is the closest of those 3, but considerably lighter. Eton College isn't bad - decent cologne scent. Avocado is an interesting scent. Most seem to prefer it for the performance, not necessarily the smell. I have gotten equally good shaves with all the TOBS creams that I have tried, so the main criteria in my selection is the scent.

I would choose shaving shop but Eton is nice. I prefer other TOBS scents personally but thats me. Avocado has its following but nobody will probably say that they love the scent.

I have all the TOBS scents but have absolutely no clue how I got them. I would suggest getting samples before sinking cash.

Shavingessentials.net is selling a sampler that has all 10 scents for 18.50 shipped. it's not on the website so you have to email them.

I like both varieties of TOBS. I give the edge to Eton in scent.

    Avocado..

Incredibly moisturizing, and the smell's not too bad (it smells like cucumbers to me)

    Taylor

I agree, Taylor so far is great. I like the the Lavendeur. I have tried the Castle Forbes Lime, but it is not worth the expense when you can get similar results with Taylor. Art of Shaving Lemon is great too.

    Best shaving Regards,

I have no valid input for your question, but the topic of "which XXX smells better?" cracks me up because scent is so subjective. Not only that but scent is the sense most strongly tied to our memories.

A scent that puts you in a euphoria until it fades may give me a migraine headache where I'd beg to be shot so it'd end.

As for me, I try to either find products locally so I can sample them, or find cheap samples online. If I don't like it, I'm not out much and can PIF.

But that's just me and my two scents.

    Hi all,
I ordered the TOBS sample kit from shavingessentials.com of all 10 scents, plus a whole tub of the Rose (blind buy) Very impressed with Shavingessentials service and care. Dont be afraid to buy from them.

Here's my humble take. (in order of preference) I'm 25 years old FYI:

    1) Rose - a classic must-have, gentle, gracious, gorgeous (you could seduce your lady into shaving her too with this one, yet it is still very masculine)

2)St. James - I don't know how to describe it, but its just awesome.
The other scents seems bland after I smell this one. Fits all ages. My new signature. Elegantly fresh and simply astounding.

3)Avocado - folks say its more luscious lather than the others. I does feel like it might have some ingredients in that gives extra smooth glide.
Smells like I just surfaced naked from a crystal pool deep in a rain forest and lay on the moss and watched parrots fly overhead.

    4) Mr. Taylor - gentleman, right and proper.
Reminds me of what my dad smelled like, lying on his back, watching fireworks, batting fireflies, and eating ice cream cones when I was a kid.

5)Lavender - So beautiful and simple that at first I brushed it off, then one sunday morning I lathered up over good cup of coffee...it reminds me of hiking on English footpaths when I lived in Europe and stopping at the wonderful pubs for a pint.
    Makes me cry almost.

6)Eton College - It doesnt have enough character compared to the above ones for me, but I can see why so many would recommend it. Kind of like Mr. Taylor with a fresh, young attitude. Somewhat mild.

7)Sandalwood - this is what I will use when Im 60 or so. Mildly spicy,
commanding a learned and older aura of a wonderful life lived.

    8) Lemon and Lime - If I liked its nature, I would put it at #1 or 2, but I associate it with citrus cleaners like Goop, and Agent Orange hand degreasers that I cleaned my hands with after tinkering with Triumphs in the garage. A downright beautiful formulation, I just would rather purchase the above scents.

9)Almond - smells like almond! Sniff some almond drops from the spice rack and u got it.

    10) Shaving Shop - It seems unscented to me. Yet strangely wonderful. I'd rather order more prominent ones.
