Hello, I live in Virginia. I have been using Gourmet shaving since December. My favorite creams so far are Taylor's Lavendeur and the Body shop (Old One). My favorite soap so far is Pre de Province. My favorite razors are the Merker Slant and Futur. Regards, CloseShaver
Welcome to TSD. Can't comment on the razors as I'm to cheap to have purchased either. I do want to try Pre De Provence, though I'll have to finish one or two others in my rotation first.
Hello, I was born and raised in Annandale, VA so I know quite a bit about the shops available to you in your area. As a general rule people in your area do the shave job with disposable razors and have little need for quality shave hardware as they are using the terrible stuff. Here is where you can get some of the quality stuff near you without going online for any of it. CVS can get you ARSCO blades Rodmans Here you can get some quality soaps 4301 Randolph Rd Silver Spring, MD 301-942-9210 Kifecenter You can get some excellent razors and Merkur blades 5111 Berwyn Rd #110 College Park, MD 301-486-0901 Crabtree and Evelynn in Tyson's Corners has the soaps and brushes Beyond that there is nothing for you in the DC area. As a general rule my hardware has come from on-line shops. Feel free to call or PM we can talk about what is available. I have been doing this job for several years so I have exausted what the DC Area has to offer.
Welcome to TSD, Close!!! Rodman's? Really? What do they carry? How's the one at Viers Mill Rd/Randolph Rd?
Never bought anything at this one, however I have seen a lot of shave soaps there. Nothing in the way of quality razors or creams just a few brushes and a rather extensive collection of soaps. As a general rule I use the Rodmans in tenlytown. Since y ou are in Baltimore I would take Marc camden or Penn to Union Station where you hook up with the DC Metro red line to Tenlytown where you can walk to the rodman's down there. Will have to do some more research here I am not coming up with an address for this one.
