Not to turn this into a bash-fest, but while we're on the subject of B&B and Old Spice I figure I should turn your attention to: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=81797 Here's a link to the original B/S/T: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=81395 I just found the whole thing disheartening. The member wouldn't respond to my PM's and so I publicly called him out on what he was doing, at which point the mods yanked the thread in order to investigate. After a couple of days the thread was restored, at which point I had already posted my "Beware" thread, so the guy found that he could no longer sell his bottle, so he rescinded it. What bothered me is that according to the mod in question, they could find no fault with the seller and allowed him to re-sell. It came down to my word vs. his, and I feel that with the evidence I gave the mods over there they probably shouldn't have allowed him to repost it. But oh well, at least I feel I got my point across and kept anybody else from getting burned. I love B&B, and there's some great guys over there. But like Kaveh pointed out there's also a lot of dicking around and clique-y behavior, and I don't feel something like an unscrupulous seller should be treaded lightly. It seems like a lot of the "know nothing know it alls" have left SMF and set up shop over at B&B.
Guess we missed this thread, deaf ears perhaps? http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12153
Hey, Will, maybe I'm missing something. This thread is over a month old, and the "hate" thread was posted a week after this one. Was this a reference to we who posted in this thread or the guy that bumped it today?
The friendliness and helpfulness of the folks around here is what draws me to TSD. It's kind of hard to find that kind of attitude on the internet. This thread reminded me of my grandfather. The more I get into wet shaving, the more I wish I had my grandfather's old stuff. I remember seeing a bottle of Old Spice and Brut on his shelf. The odd white bottle that the old spice was in (with the tiny top) fascinated me as a kid. He shaved with a DE because his beard was too heavy for the old electrics. My memory isn't so good as I was probably 11 when he died, but I think his razor was probably a SS. Too bad that stuff was lost in a fire a few years back.
I can not tell the difference either. I use the smells just like OS some too. but don't tell anyone. i actually have my Grand fathers SS... I do not use it a lot but it is here. I love the connection with him.,
