Never cared for them. I did find them to be a bit too aggressive, even if I was very careful.

    Personally, I prefer the Yellow 7 O'Clocks.

I'm still rather enjoying the Feather that's been loaded in my Merkur Long for about a week now...

I would never buy them but I've quite a lot so I'll use them. The old ones have a much nicer package...New Hi-Stainless might last a little longer.

I'll have to consult Squire's microscopics to see how radically different they are ;)

I am happy for you justin looks to me that you find the right blade for you. They tend to eat my face a bit.

I'm in SE Asia and Feathers (new style box) are about $1.50 per pack of 5 blades - they work excellent !!!!!

Am pretty new to DE shaving but after using 3 Derby blades in my Futur and not suffering decided to try a notorious Feather!

Can’t comment on the longevity of this blade but ever with my limited experience / knowledge was immediately able to tell the difference between this and the Derby. It was so quiet as it cut through my stubble and I easily managed a 4 pass shave with no irritation.

Perhaps beginners luck however I can see myself becoming one of this blade’s loyal followers!

If it works for you, that's great! Especially if you notice a significant difference. I think my past Feather experiences may have just been wrong blade for my type of face. I'll learn that soon enough though, along with Feathers and Derbys, I've got Astras, Personnas, and a few 7 o'clocks getting sent in.

I've had better results with Astra blades lately than Feathers, but that may have more to do with the improvement in technique. I'll throw another Feather in my SS soon and see how it goes.

I love them - I use them pretty regularly these days. My first ever shave with them was superb. A few days' growth - floating in the sink after first pass! BBS after three passes and touch ups. Try that with a Fusion! :D

I don't shave every day (I don't need to if I've BBS the day before), but I feel for me they are a bit too hard on the face for normal or even every other day use.

I find them to be a great tool for a specific situation, i.e. a few days' or even a week's growth.

Of course, I always strive for BBS and always go ATG, but those of you that only go WTG and XTG, they may not be too hard on your face. YMMV!

I don't like the way that they are made out to be face-eating monsters. They're not - just very sharp. If your DE technique is sound, they are "feather" light on your face and great for tough beards.

I like the analogy of a chef's knife. It's safer to use a very sharp knife than a blunt one. Less chance of slipping and cutting yourself, and if you do cut yourself, the cut is cleaner and heals quicker. I find this applies to DE blades too. When I do nick myself with a Feather, it heals very quick, and sometimes even stops bleeding after rinsing off.

I only use feathers at the moment.

Have tried Merkur and Derby but find the feather just cuts smoother and easier therefore I get less irritation.

I so fat have have very good success with the feather, with some some exceptions being that I still hvae gotten a lot of nicks... However I know that is mostly from my technique. But the shave other than that was fairly smooth.

Feathers are my preferred blade. They work incredibly well in almost all my razors and give me the smoothest shave with the fewest passes.

Feathers can be controlled. Don't be shy, but do be careful!

Do you flip your blades every day?

I get a week out of a feather if I do a few 2 pass days and a few 3 pass days. I do flip the blade over as the lather is sitting on my face.

I learned with feather blades and I have tried others but I can’t make it more then a few weeks before I go back to the feathers.

Am trying my first Feather this week. I've tried a couple blades that may have been as sharp, or at least so close that I couldn't tell the diference. The Feather however seems to be lasting longer. Today was my fourth shave on the same Feather, and received BBS without more work than normal. I've never received more than three good shaves out of a blade before. I'm going to try a fifth shave tomorrow.

I have given Feathers a shot a few times - not a fan. Personna Reds I find very good, low cost, and forgiving.

+1 I read about so many people being "afraid" of a particular blade or razor. It's not always the blade (or the razor) that causes problems (nicks, cuts, irritation). I'm sure you'll find in most cases it's poor technique or lack of attention to what you're doing. I've also read where a lot of folks tried blade/razor X, hated it, then rediscovered how wonderful it is several months later (after their technique had improved).

I live by the 80/20 rule when it comes to shave gear: If 80% like it, I just might, also. If only 20% like it, I just might be one among them. Bottom line, try it - you just might like it.

    Take care & God bless,
    Steve

I'm new here but just used a feather this morning in my SS. The only other blades I've used thus far are the Family Dollar brand (personnas i believe?).

There was a HUGE difference in sharpness, however, I felt like I could have gotten a better shave w/ a slightly duller blade that allowed me more movement on my neck and a little bit of pressure.

I keep getting a little razor burn on the one side of my neck where it grows sideways. It's really difficult to go completely WTG there...something I need to work on.

Also, I'm not sure if my lather was thick enough using TOBS soap.

I have a long way to go yet, but I'm really impressed w/ the results so far doing 2 passes.

I think I'll try some other blades and come back to the Feathers.
