Geesh Bob, I'll have to get back into the weight room if I bought that razor. I do like the two tone handle treatment though. Your creativity it unmatched when it comes to making razors and handle. Keep it up.
oooooh! aaaaahhhhhhh! very very very nice. I love my handle, but I think my birthday wish list will have one of these!
Homina homina haa waa... (no, I don't speak Cherokee) I think that thing just scared my missed spots into submission. Thanks Bob! You're really making me want one of those HD handle setups.
Actually the finished product will have plated knob. I made this handle on a commission, the 1st time I had a failure to communicate with the client and the handle was longer and thinner then he desired. This was the revised design and I liked it so well I made 6 more. I intended to put my wooden knobs on these handle but I got a request for a metal and this is the results. It's only slightly bigger then the Merkur HD, but it's solid instead of hallow so it weighs 104 grams versus 77 for the HD. The Merkur is a Cruiser weight by comparison. Here's a picture with the wooden tips.
Also makes a good emergency escape tool. Not only will it cut the seat belt but you can use it to bust out the windshield:happy102.
If you have a brass razor head I could not only provide the handle and knob in brass but it would be less expensive and a quicker turn around as I wouldn't have the wait on the plating.
I told my wife my birthday is comeing up and printed 3 pics of this razor and left it in places where shed find them I hope it works Great looking razor.
Do what I want to and get the copper handle... not plated.. should match the gold head pretty well I think.
You won't be sorry I tell ya! I got a set made for me by Bob and the craftsmanship is OUTSTANDING! Too pretty to even use, really. I'm used to my razors having all the plating gone :happy102
