To a limited degree, yes. During my third and final pass, I'll stretch my chin out to get the really tough spots (under my chin and the sides of my mouth)BBS. It seems to help a lot.
None really. Puff the cheeks a little bit. Look to the sides when getting near the ear and look up and swallow for the neck. I dont use a second hand to stretch the skin.
Oufffffffffff, I cannot, cannot, cannot even attempt to stretch on the skin, because I get such unbearable pain. I feel I tear the tissues of my face, and I will feel to faint to the floor. :sick007
Jeff, don't you shave with a straight on the wknds? No stretching? Admittedly I barely stretched when I straight shaved, but now I'm incorporating a last XTG water pass with tons of stretching and baby does it do the trick for me - I'm talking about DE shaving here. No more straight hassle for me...Lost its thrill, just is a pain, and I don't find the results to be "magically" longer-lasting! So now, with any razor, I'm getting incredibly close without going ATG.
Typically I don't stretch my skin, but I think when you do you are able to get a closer shave, so once in a while when I want an extra close shave I will use proper skin stretching methods.
I've started stretching a bit and it seems to make the passes on my cheeks and sideburns a lot smoother and more productive.
I'm fly the same airline as you & crackstar, there. I CAN go ATG, but I have to be careful, & usually the next day gets a gentle, 2-pass shave. Better than with cartridges, though. ATG meant lots of irritation & bumps, & no shave the next day. I use a bit of stretching to get under the jawline. It gives me a flat surface, much easier than shaving along the ol' mandible.
I just started stretching extensively. Definitely makes a huge difference. Does your skin get irritated when you stretch the neck skin? Mine turns red as if I had ran a razor over it too many times...
I actually stretch even though I currently use a cartridge type razor, since it's the only way to prevent getting a bad 5 o'clock shadow. mostly on my jawline, and neck, since I have spiral growth patterns in those areas.
