I neither imbibe nor puff, and today's the worst Marathon Monday of all time.

Nevertheless I'm open-shirted so I just did two quick ATG stomach and chest passes, with the limited supply at my disposal.

Farha's got a ton of disposables at her apt. and I leave my big Omega Professional there, along with a tube of Gada Mint. But I'm on a Noxzema binge now, so I brought that baby along.

Well today was a day of reckoning to say the least. My first straight shave ever resulted in an overall result of mediocrity. Impossible positions to hit the lower regions of my neck to the sides, as well as improper blade angle (no doubt for some of it), resulted in a flawed shave. Hopefully as I shave more with this blade it will get much easier. A few nicks to report and some heavy burning with the AS (due to razor aggression)...... overall not as bad as I thought.

Gotta love a good S/E shave. Great shaves with little work. Plowed through 2 days of stubble without slowing down.

 

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

red tip/feather

vintage Old Spice (used as cologne)

Last time using the red tip. Two shaves is enough to decide that this is just a little too aggressive for me. Not only that, but the weight and balance isn't quite right. I have to force this razor a little bit, mainly because the head is too light. I prefer an imbalanced, head heavy razor. Weird eh?

Still, BBS results, but too much attention to detail needed. I'm glad I finally tried one of these, and can see how lots of members would like em. It did give me an extremely close shave.

I bought a tube of Omega shaving cream over the weekend and tried lathering some up last night. Lathered well, but applying it to my face resulted in a nasty irritation that persists today.

For a 4¢ blade, the Gillette Super Thin has performed admirably. I used it for a third shave this morning, and it was still smooth and sharp, giving a BBS shave in three passes.

Great shave. That Cheap Derby cream worked very well. The OC1912 is a pleasure to shave with. Almost as much fun as my favorite 1910 Gem Jr.
