Say Austin, where do you get all of the various flavors of Saint Charles Shave balms? I've seen a number of them you use that aren't available on the website.

These are custom blends that Sue makes for me. She has done this for me when I have her make a soap for me. Town & Country is a teak soap and balm. I will usually place a large order that makes it worth her while.

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy" 300 an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger knot by The "Knotty Badger"
      [*]Cream: C&E Sienna
      [*]Razor: 1909 Burham SE
[*]Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 5)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & C&E Sienna ASB
      [*]EDT: C&E Sienna EDT

[*]Result: A careful BBS shave. The Burham has to be the lightest vintage razor made. It is also a very aggressive shaver. Aggressiveness could be a factor of the proper/improper blade angle. Find that to get good beard reduction I need to angle the razor away from my face more than I do with a GEM style SE. Still, no blood mainly cause I took my time and used very little pressure despite it's light weight.

The La Toja is superb. I love the old-time scent. It reminds me of something very specific, but I'm having trouble placing it...

    :(

Wilkinson makes a fine razor blade, their SS/SC have a nice scent but don't make a decent lather. (IMHO).

I dont know what to say. I hadnt shaved in two weeks. I decided to shape up a goatee. Now....those of us that wear goatee's know that they can be tempermental to shape. Well...I keep going shorter and shorter due to uneveness until I had to whack it off. Now the story gets interesting to me..in that I have NEVER shaved my chin with a straight razor. Man O Man that was a difficult spot for a first time. I have alot of weepers now. Well...I think Ill be going a few days to regrow some hair for another goatee :(

On a side note...I had some Killer Mutton Chops I had to get rid of because I had no facial hair and it ust didnt look right.

This is my current desert island setup. I just really love the smell of the Grafton so much that I'm willing to overlook any of its flaws and I just love the performance of the brush and razor.
