Well this is the finished article, and I`m not happy, one of the red spacers is 3/32" out with the other,I know Bill will see it ,I thought things were going too well, that`s a bloody beginners mistake Anyway for what its worth ,this is it kind regards Peter
I'd like to point out here that Peter has opted to construct some difficult scales, even for someone who has a lot of experience. MOP is difficult to work, the dust from grinding can kill you, and it breaks easier than wood. The most difficult part is keeping everything in alignment. Peter's scales require that 6 sections of pearl need to be in dead-on in order to collect the big bucks for the work. He almost made it, but I have to say his work is still better than much of what I see out there from the resurgence of regrinds coming from Europe. I know that Peter has my info on how to do this alignment, but doing it is much harder than saying it. For those of you who don't have my restoration cd or know what we are talking about, go to the free instruction of my blog. In particular, read Making scales 107 and Making scales 108. I know you have the ability, Peter, and you will kicking them out in perfect alignment in no time at all.
