    Hey folks,

I've created a spreadsheet to track my shaves with the razor blades from my Connaught mega sample kit. Nothing fancy but it may be useful to others.

I've included 2 files - one in OpenOffice 2 format and the other in Excel format.

    Enjoy.

Moderators: I if you think it would be useful to put a sticky on it please do so. Also if this post would be better in another place, please move it as you see fit.

Excellent way to do this task, I made an Open Office database for mine. I love OpenOffice, I have version 3.1 at home.

    Thanks.

I print mine out and keep it in my shaving draw in the bath. Just mark it up then I'll update a copy with the number and notes.

I love OpenOffice too. I've got OpenOffice 3 on my work laptop and my work UNIX workstation. My wife has NeoOffice (Mac interface version) on her Mac.

BTW: The spreadsheets were created on my Linux box at home so for you Windows user there won't be any viruses in the files. But you should have a virus scanner anyway.

    Blade Log is great idea!

I've only used two types of blades ; Derby Extras and Personna. The Derby's are so harsh on my skin, I just can't use them. The Personna's are completely comfortable, smooth, and get my skin baby smooth. I was surprised that the Derby's were so harsh on the skin (not to mention bleeding issues), and that a comparatively low end blade like the Personna is so good. Reading many of the reviews, Derby's seem to be well regarded, but in my experience, the Personna's are far better for comfort and performance. The Personna's can be purchased locally at Walmart for 2.99 for a ten pack. The low price is just an added bonus. I would actually pay a premium for the Personna if I had to.

If anyone can suggest other blades that are smooth and comfortable, it would be much appreciated. I think because of my ultra sensitive skin, sharpness is not a primary criteria for me.

I haven't tried the Super Iridums yet but I've found all those blades to be pretty good.
