    Monday 5/18 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy 300" an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger knot by "The Knotty Badger"
      [*]Cream: Tabac SC
[*]Razor: '07 GEM Jr Lathercatcher style with wood handle for face & Braun 7526 electric for head
[*]Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 3)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Nivea Extra Soothing ASB
      [*]EDT: Tabac EDT

[*]Result: BBS today. That little GEM Jr sure is a great shaver especially paired with the Pella blade. No nicks or weepers today either. The Tabac remains perhaps my favorite scent whether in cream or soap.

fun day for me with a jury duty notice for this morning...like they'll let a uniformed cop on a jury...

    anyway:

    Atra razor
    TSD's TABAC-LIKE
    Witch Hazel w/ menthol splash
    Old Spice A/S

I know some of you guys don't like to hear about good shaves with a cart. but this razor really works well and is much much cheaper to use than the new-fangled cartridge razors out there now. Perfecto BBS even on the neck and jaw with 2 passes and a touch-up.

No. It's about collectible Gillette's, expensive blades, out of production tallow soaps and expensive after shave...

    oh wait...that's not this place...:happy102

    Hot shower + hot towels
    EJ BBB
    Gillette slim
    Gillette swedes
    Ingram S/C
    Proraso A/S splash
    Cold towels
    Nivea A/S balm

Nice cool shave! I strated using the gillette swedes on saturday evening and was very happy with it. It's sharp, maybe not as sharp as a feather but gives a very comfortable shave. As a matter of fact i didn't even thought about what blade i had in the razor the first passes. Guess it's a sign that things are about to come together. :) Also used TOBS mr taylor S/C on saturday. What a great scent! That's by now my official evening wear scent!

    MONDAY,
    18 MAY '9.

    Body - Fiorentino Rose
    Hair - C&E Rose Water
    Razor - Personna Blue
    Lather - Gastby Cream
    Brush - Allen Solly Boar
    Splash - Jean-P. Gaultier
    Finish - Jean-P. Gaultier.

    ...

Personna dual-track throwaways are razors I use here are there, free at the gym.

Gatsby SC is Japanese, Aloe- and Witch Hazel-infused.

The boar isn't dense but has a very pleasingly hefty ceramic handle.

Unable to locate my copy of Gatsby, I substituted This Side of Paradise for the backdrop ;)

I don't know where you get your information, but that's what DE shaving is all about. We all just make newbies think it's a "cheaper" alternative so they get hooked and can't stop. It's happened to all of us ;) Actually, it's all about getting the best shave you can... price not being of concern.

Merkur Futur w/ Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless
    Vulfix #2233
    EJ Sea Buckthorn SS
    Penhaligon's Opus 1870 EDT

Had a very nice shave today, with the EJ soap. Lathers very easily, generates a slick lather. Not as cushioning as the TOBS soap, but no irritation or nicks, even though I had the Futur at 1.5 today.

Fourth shave with this same blade. I've tried stropping it on my Dovo strop in the evenings before using it the next morning. Fourth shave still feels smooth and sharp.
