Anybody on this board familiar with this brand? Is it good quality? I know that it is cheap but does it perform like a more expensive AS?
I picked up a bottle of their Oriental Spice... I hate the scent. I'm not going to try my luck with another one.
I have tried the Lime one. It was okay. Not enough to get me to buy some. There are plenty of other good quality/low price options out there, I'll probably pass on Boosters. Best Lime AS I have found thus far was the TSD Lime Ice splash - wonderful stuff!
I had the oriental spice and thank god Eric took it off my hands:happy102 I still have the iced lime and its OK. Subpar AS IMO. I wouldnt buy it again but you really get what you pay for I guess.
Booster's is probably one of the most overrated aftershaves out there in my opinion. I've tried them all, and I can't think of a one that was worth what I payed for it. I think if it were more available here in the US then it would be priced cheaper than Pinaud and everyone would be kind of "meh" towards it. It's amazing what glass bottles and international shipping can do to a product (entirely within the confines of one's own mind).
I agree. It's a fine AS for the price. I bought my first bottle directly from the Canadian barber shop 2 years ago. I still have the original bottle and it's still 1/2 full considering I have decanted it several time for other members.
I like some of the Booster products. Most of the Booster scents are light. I find it to be moisturizing enough to soothe my skin and make it ready for the next day's shave. I tend to shy away from the flowery and strong scented ASs. I'm not interested in broadcasting my taste in scents to the general populace and Boosters scents are fine for the office. June Clover is my all time favorite. I also like Oriental Spice, Mosswood, and Polar Ice. OTOH, Iced Lime smells like a Life Saver to me and Jickey is just strange.
I dont find them moisturizing being that at least my bottle of Iced Lime consists of alcohol, water, and scent(At least thats the ingredient list). I might experiment with it a bit and add some glycerine drops (in smaller decant of course) Maybe throw some menthol in it so its actually "Iced". I wanted to get the sampler pack but I have tried Oriental Spice(spiced cookie IMO), Polar Ice(smells like hell), and Iced Lime(smells like lime jello or as mentioned earlier- life savers). They struck out 3 times so thats it for me. There are so many better alternatives why force yourself to use a subpar product? I agree the Fraser's line of SC is incredible but they really need to improve on their AS line.
I found it suprising that nobody mentioned the Aquarius scent yet. I found out on Amazon.com that it has a woody scent to it. Amazon. com is the only place on the internet I can find so far without ordering it from Canada. What kind of woody scent does Booster Aquarius have? I like to know before I order it. Is it a lot like Aramis or is it more like Woods Of Windsor? Is the scent dominated by a certain kind of wood?
Gee, I hope I like the Aquarius scent when I get it. Polar Ice smells like hell? Like Hai Karate huh?
