All Schick's Krona's?

    Hi

I have a Schick butterfly DE razor, but it does not mention Krona anywhere on the literature or on the plastic box that it is a Krona. So are Schick's Krona's or are there different models?

My model has a metal end and I have seen that most Krona's appear all black.

Not all Schicks were called Kronas. But they didn't have another name either. They are all basically the same thing. So we call them all Krona. Yes, some had a metal end, some didn't.

What a nice shaver they are, too. I recently picked one up - the one which reads "Schick Krona" across the doors... It provides smoother shaves than the Super Speeds I've used.

    the Kronas are awesome shavers!
paired up with a Feather blade, dunno why I ever try anything else (well, I do, but there'd be no need if it came down to it) :D

    Hi there,

I like the appearance of the Schick Krona very much and I am thinking about buying one, too. Can you tell me something about the material? Is it nickel plated brass or stainless steel? I think I've read something about stainless steel, but I am not sure...

    Viele Grüße :D from Michael!

I believe they are nickel plated. They beat the Superspeeds with ease. Unbelievable close and comfortable shaver. It doesn't matter what blade you feed them. However a Feather is a Feather. Mine doesn't say Schick Krona anywhere but on the bottom of the handle it does say Schick.

I'm pretty sure the doors are stainless steel, not sure about the rest of the head.

I have one badly scraped on the doors and it's nickel plated copper. (at least the doors)

Ouch! But if ever a razor had doors to scrape to look for what is under the plating... that one would. :D

Kronas were available with multiple differences. Some said Schick on one door, Krona on the other, some said Krona on each door, some had nothing printed on the door. Some had metal TTOs, and others had plastic TTOs. They were also available in gold.

Not all Schick TTO DEs are Kronas though. Here is a Schick Platinum. :D

Well... I stand corrected. I hadn't seen those! Is it still safe to assume that the knob at the end of the handle is a "Krona"
