Newbie girl here looking to buy shaving soap. I noticed the Queen of Blades recommends Taylor's of Old Bond Street Avocado, but I pretty much have to use fragrance free everything.Does the soap have much of a smell, and does the ingredients list perfume? I tend to get rashy with perfumes. So what can I use that will still be moisturizing to my legs?
Give some of the Queen's soap a shot. She makes a fragrance free soap and cream and her stuff works just fine. The store link is at the top of the page... Welcome to the forum!
I'm moderately fragrance sensitive, so some cremes and soaps are too much, but, ironically, cheap stuff like vdh delux and williams are okay. You might try them, since they are so cheap. It depends on your sensitivity level.
hi taylor,s of old bond street do have fragrance free one if im right, also mama bears has one and she uses natural oil,s in her soaps lavender can be soothink and calming to the skin if never tryed it but i think nivea make a shaving cream im shure if seen it on one of the shaving sight shop,s where i cant remember, but im shure you,ll find plenty of help on the sight good luck.
I get bad skin reactions from most glycerin based soaps. That's why I stick to triple milled soaps that tend to be significantly less scented. My recommendation is Pre De Provence. It has only a very subtle scent like fresh laundry, is very protective, and the price is very reasonable.
Go w/ TOBS' Unscented, inexpensive and top-performing. If you want to go even cheaper and buy immediately, many drugstores in the US carry Real Shave Co.'s shaving cream line, among which is a sensitive, non-perfumed variety. I own it and it shaves very well.
TOBS Avocado Shave Soap? If anyone has a link to refute this, please post it. But doesn't Taylor's(TOBS) only make Avocado as a shave cream only? Isn't only Eton College, Sandalwood, and unscented are shaving soaps only offered by TOBS. This thread was little confusing. Here are shave soaps I would like to add to this thread, At Wal-Mart, I have seen them carry the Shea Butter version of Van Der Hagen(VDH) called Deluxe on the package. That may work well, I haven't tried it yet. Most places(Drug Stores and Grocery Stores) have Williams Mug Soap and VDH Glycerin Shave soaps. They are ok. If you have Organic food store, like Super Supplements or Marlene's if your in Washington State, may supply fragrance free shave soaps and creams. The only product I do recommend not using is Herban Cowboy Dusk, its a terrible shave soap, doesn't lather well and feels like your shaving with pungent motel soap. The most mouisterizing Fragrance Free soaps I have tried are Shea Butter Based: Institut Karite, Pre De Provendence, and Providence Sante. They also make shaving creams too. If you want to try shaving creams(which I find usually more moisturizing than shave soaps) try Kiss My Face Fragrance Free. They are sold at grocery stores, Organic, Vitamin, shops and can be used with or without a brush. Hence they are advertised as moisture shaves. Finally the Shave Den soaps are very well made soaps by Queen of Blades. If you try to get chocolate or vanilla, keep them away from the kids. They may want to eat it because of their fragrance. Delicious! You can say. For the shaver that started this thread, are you using a shaving brush? If not, I highly recommend one for use with shaving soap or cream.
Nope, TOBS makes a lot of different scented SC's: http://westcoastshaving.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19&products_id=59
I was wondering if TOBS actually made a shave soap of it Avocado scent. It seemed the newbie didn't know specifics about TOBS line. I wanted to make it clear to new shaver who was looking for shaving soap that TOBS Avocado is only offered as a shave cream.
