I have one and I use it pretty regularly. It's nicely built, has a nice look to it, and is a pretty sweet shaver. It's not as aggressive as some of the other open comb razors, but I do find it to be smooth and balanced. I haven't found the smooth handle to be much of a problem because I tend to grip it right up by the grooves. I have the satin black version, and I really like that it's not the typical silver/chrome color of every other razor out there. The mix of chrome and satin black gives the razor a nice modern look that I really appreciate. I wish more companies would produce something that isn't the standard look. One of the problems I have with the razor is getting the blade even on both sides. There seems to be more play with the blade than in other razors using the pins to align the blade. I could make a makeshift slant from the misalignment of the blade if I wanted. Despite that flaw, it's something that I enjoy shaving with and appreciate. Any company that wants to create a solid DE razor gets a positive in my book, and the Goodfella adds to the positive by being a smooth shaver.
Ditto. Unusually, for an open-comb, it really is mild and I have to struggle with it a bit to get an adequate shave. However I agree that it is nicely balanced, and the smooth handle is deceptive - the grooves are in just the right spot, so slips are avoided. I haven't noticed a problem with blade alignment on mine - I wonder if it makes a difference according to the brand/make of blade? The Goodfella is sort-of designed for Derbys.
