Iridiums and 7-Oh!s are excellent too.

I weigh longevity vs price, and for me BICs, Astras and 5-pack Russian Gillettes come out the best - bulk buys from the Middle East.

But truthfully I get the same shave out of all blades when they're new so I'm not picky when it comes to blades provided that they're coated.

 

It smells like oranges and herbs. Very nice.

Tried a different blade this morning, and it was interesting. Feels like it may be a little sharper than the Personna, and it wasn't quite as comfortable for my face. I lowered the razor setting # by 1, and that took care of things pretty well. Still, I think the milder blade is one I prefer so far. I can also see many members liking the Chinese blade more, but who knows.

Another very close and effortless shave. I'm still sorta surprised the razor feels as good as it does in my hand. The lack of weight was a concern for me, but it turned out to be no problem at all. The injector is a pleasure to use.

The menthol from this Cerrus cream is not strong, but you can still feel it while you're shaving, and the lather and scent are great. The Alt Innsbruck added that extra shot of freeze that I love!

Tuesday Shave

Hot Shower, Gillette Tech (bakelite handle), Magna Brush, VDH Glycerin, Dickinson's WH (straight), Corn Husker's Lotion, Brut Splash On

Try as I might, I can't seem to dislike this little razor. It's nowhere near as aggressive as my normal shaves but there's something I like very much about it. It's fun to shave with and has consistently delivered presentable, to as good as DFS shaves, nothing wrong with that. I'll probably look like I need a shave about dinner time but hey, I was planning on shaving tomorrow anyway, right?

 

Thanks, K. I knew you would chime in with some good info eventually. I'm always pleased with your suggestions when I buy them.

I cant stop touching my face .I did get one outstanding shave today.By parts:
It was my first day trying one of the Kells shaving soap samples.I decided to go for the Casbah Mint hemp blend cuz the scent:its a really nice invigorating scent,similar to Iced Zub Zero but a little bit more "crispy",perfect for this summer heat.I tried to make thick lather with it;at the beginning the soap lathers up so easily creating a thick lather,but that lather goes thinner in a couple minutes,so I thought.."no,no,this is not gonna be too much cushiony or protective..."..too far away from the truth.Since the first stroke I felt how the razor literally glided over my face with no effort at all.I had the feeling like shaving with a super protective oil,so I bet that the hemp oil is just great for shaving and for its skin properties.I went 1 wtg,1 xtg and 2 atg,yes 2 atg with the GEM MM open comb.My face felt so nice after the shave and I just see how protective this hemp blend could be.Im glad that Dan is joining JoAnna and Irena making great stuff.
The Semogue 1305 is performing so great.If I wouldnt know boar and somebody would tell me:"thats a finest badger brush" I would totally belive it cuz the brush its stiff while its dry but once is wet turns so soft with a great backbone(better than any badger brush).

 

Lime Theme

Lime Theme to avoid outbreak of scurvy disease.

Brush: Gillette Brushplus refilled with Godrej's Lime Fresh shaving cream. Also used Crabtree & Evelyn Boar brush

Play with Brushplus. Rinse off and hot towel. Play with Boar brush. Rinse and hot towel, repeat,etc. Finally stopped playing and shaved.

Razor: Mergress with Feather blade
Other Soaps: Homemade lime scented soap along with homemade almond shave stick (touch of citrus scent added)
Booster Iced Lime and Royall Lyme toilet lotion.
Wife found old Avon Jaguar decanter with Island Lime (not very good!) but still somewhat limey!
Finished with homemade lime balm.

Massive dose of vitamin C thanks to my shaving regiment! Good health and close shave.
