Hurried shave this morning. Still turned out great

    Speick Shave Stick
    Rooney 3/1
    Merkur HD
    Gillette Swede (4)
    Pinaud Clubman

  5. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Schick injector('L' type)/Personna twinjector blade(NOS)
    TOBS Rose SC (thanks Brian)
    TSD Bamboo and Teak AS
    Ogalallah Bay Rum cologne

Tried another of my favorite injectors this morning. Whew, this one works great......just as I remember. Feels good in my hand, and I'm left with an extremely close shave. Man, nothing like an injector for taking care of my neck.

The TOBS worked very well, with a mild scent that I enjoy quite a bit. I also tried TSD after shave for the first time,(thanks Brian) and liked the scent on this one. Heh, I wasn't quite ready for the slight burn......must have some alcohol in the mix. I know lots of members like that feeling, but I don't understand it....heh.

Anyway, a very nice way to start my day.......BBS results.

    Thursday/Jueves

    Semogue 2000 boar brush
Rocket HD with Gillette Blue blade(2nd shave)
Kells Original Hemp blend Casbah Mint soap
    Caswell Massey ASB

The Rocket HD is a great heavy razor and I like it how it shaved me,however I missed my GEM MM this morning.Honestly I cant see the point sometimes in spending so much on Gillette razors when you can get a cheaper GEM or Ever Ready and have OUTSTANDING results with it.
The Kells performs so good.I totally RECOMMEND IT!

    Good Thursday morning all...

Edwin Jagger Chatsworth w/ Gillette yellow (5)
    Edwin Jagger BBB
    Fitjar Wild Thing sc
    Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
    Floid Vigoroso as
    Vetver de Puig edt

Received the Fitjar samples yesterday (very small considering the cost of shipping) and was underwhelmed by the scent (no scent noticeable), but it left a nice post shave feel to the skin. I am sorry to say that it was not as good as the La Toja I had recently, nor as good as Tabac or Godrej. I had high hopes for this based on others experiences. As always, YMMV.

I've often pondered this question myself. To date, I've never found a DE that delivers the quality of shave of my Gems. The Micromatic is just a great razor and a great shaving experience. With the exception of my earliest shaves with a Micromatic (when piss poor technique was undoubtedly a factor) I can honestly say, I've never gotten anything but amazing shaves from either of my open comb Micromatics.

I have been shaving with DEs/SEs since las january only but Im gettin into a point where I wanna simplify things with my gear (its gonna hard to do it with the soaps:D) and I find SE better than any DE by far and a lot cheaper(you can get a good condition SE razor, like an Ever Ready 1924 or GEM MM for less than 10 bucks on ebay). When you have use a SE for a period of time you just discover that provides you great shaves in less than 3 passes, while with a DE I usually need 4 or 5 and some touch ups.I will have to compare the slant against any of my GEM MM but Im sure that even the GEMs will beat the slant.

[*]A/S Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Avocado Oil ASB
[*]EDT: Nine Flags Live Oak from Germany

[*]Result: Just a wonderful BBS Shave. The Elite GEM Jr is perhaps my favorite razor. Always a great shave with it no matter the soap or cream. Do really like the SCS Avocado Oil Cream as it provides a great scent as well as a slick lather for the shave.
