    Friday Morning:

    Hot Shower/Hot Towel
1972 Gillette Super Adjustable (set at 4)
    Swedish Gillette (Shave #3)
    Kent/Altesse Pure Badger
    TOBS Avocado SC
    Skin Bracer Green
    TSD AS Milk
    Preferred Stock

Very impressed with today's results. Wednesday, my face felt a little raw and tight afterward. Not the case today. I did try and make sure that I used a lighter touch this time around as I did dial the adjuster up to a 4 from a 3. I can feel a bit more smoothness than Wednesday's shave also, and that's with a 3x used Swede. I'll be interested to see how much better the results could be with a fresh blade. The TOBS lathered up magnificently but I wish I had an aftershave that matched up with it a little better than the Green Bracer but I personally don't know any that would. But the menthol kick was nice. A great finish to the month.

    Just another Ferny Friday:

    Simpson PJ2 Super
    Penhaligon's English Fern soap
Schick Krona with Super Iridium blade
Penhaligon's English Fern AS; Clinique Post-Shave Healer
    Penhaligon's English Fern EdT

The new two-band PJ2 super doesn't seem to get a lot of air time on the forum (most folks seem to be all over the T2 and CH2), but it's an exceptional brush with just the right amount of fill and density.

    Caswell-Massey sandalwood pre-shave oil
    Semogue 1305 brush
Tabac shave cream with some menthol added
    Weishi razor
    Derby blade (new)
Thayers original alcohol free witch hazel with aloe (as after shave)

The mentholated Tabac cream is great, as is the Thayers. Got a face cooling shave. However, the shave was not as close as I like :(. The Weishi was my first DE and it was a great introduction into non-Mach 3 and non-Fusion shaving. I hadn't used it in months so decided to try it again. I guess I have just outgrown it and prefer a slightly more aggressive shave. My Gillette NEW, Merkur slant, and Probak open comb have nothing to worry about as far as favorite razors go. ;)

    Semogue 1305
    Palmolive Classic SC
    Gillette Milord
    Gillette 7OCB
    Thayer's A/F Original
    Brummel AS

Result: This Milord is turning out to be quite a nice shaver. The smaller handle has taken a bit to get used to, but I'm really starting to like it...

Matt, The Milord was the 2nd razor I got after the Weishi mentioned above. I got it on e-Bay and even though its shiny new beauty days are long over, it has never left my rotation. IMO they are great razors that always give a reliable shave. :)

    Saturday 8/1 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy 300" an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger knot by The "Knotty Badger"
      [*]Cream: SCS Fairway Rose
[*]Razor: '10 GEM Jr. Lather Catcher Style
[*]Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 2)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Savory Rose Witch Hazel Toner & AV After Shave Conditioner
[*]EDT: TSD Old Spice Type EDT

[*]Result: WOW! An effortless BBS shave today. The Fairway Rose has just a wonderful scent and provides a great cushion and slickness for the razor to pass across my face. And to add to the great shave the TSD Old Spice Scent is one of my wife's favorites. As always the GEM Jr Lather Catcher did its job masterfully. Thanks St Sue and Queen Joanna for your great concoctions.

  18. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Schick 'L' type injector/Personna twinjector blades(NOS)
    AOS unscented SC(added lime EO)
    Lucky tiger AS
    Ogalallah bay rum cologne

Time to change the blade......4 shaves will do it for this one. I felt a small amout of resistance this shave, and there's no need for that....heh. The shave itself was very close, especially my neck. Ahhhhhhhhh, it's worth using an injector just for that feature. That teeeny slim head really mops up those whiskers in hard to reach spots. Heh, I'm sorta dreading the idea of going back to my fatboy....clunky old thing that it is..........

I'll use a Schick blade in this razor tomorrow, and then I'll have seen which blade is better in two different razors. It's been a good time using these razors again.

    BBS results,
    Martin

I'm as big a fan of sharp razor blades as the next man but good God Gurtey this one was absolutely ridiculously sharp! A few little weepers but nothing catsrophic. WH seemed to seal them right up.
