A friend of mine who does not even wet-shave bought a century-old dressing table that was good for the fireplace. He removed the marble, sanded down the lower part thrice (killed the vermin, of course), put some wood paste, sanded down the whole thing again, replaced a worm-eaten foot, dyed the whole thing, was unhappy with the result, sanded down the whole thing again, dyed it, was happy with the result and polished it. Price: €35 and patience. I must copy him.
Wow! That is very cool... I come across wash/shaving tables that are similar, but none as nice as that one. He did an excellent job. And of course, your photo is top notch, too (as always....) :happy088
i have a smiliar set up, though mine is one of the wooden stand affairs w/ bowl and pitcher. to the left though i have a 3 level dressing "fun house" as my wife calls it. some of the things on the levels: - silver tray of edt/a/s - collars in collar boxes/cufflinks/shirt studs/etc. - fountain pens - cigarette holders - boater hats/newsboy caps/etc. everday is xmas in my house with this thing.
