Dark and Stormy Recipes?

I recently went on a Ginger Beer buying expedition and picked up several varieties of Ginger Beer. Unfortunately two of the Ginger Beers are not great on their own so I thought I'd use them to make Dark and Stormy cocktails. Does anyone here have a good recipe?

 

Not exactly sure what Dark and Stormy refers to? If you have copper mugs, a Moscow Mule.

A Dark and Stormy is a cocktail with Dark Rum and Ginger Beer as the main ingredients. The Moscow Mule sounds interesting. I had never heard of it before and will give it a try. Thank you for the tip.

Ill say this much:

I am NOT a rum fan, but this cocktail is great.
The Goslings Black Seal Rum is the thing; use whatever ginger beer you can find.

 

This is a new one for me. I am looking forward to trying this. Thanks for enlightening me.

 

I am going to run out and buy a bottle today. I have heard good things about the Dark and Stormy but have yet to try one.

 

What is the recipe? The Goslings and Ginger Beer... over ice? blended in a cocktail shaker? What glass to serve in?

I like new cocktails!

 

I pulled (from food network) the recipe below a while back. D&S are one of our favorites,,,,,,,,, since getting them poolside in Bermuda (thank you Mr. Employer).

Dark and Stormy

Serves: 1 serving

Ingredients
• Ice
• 1/4 lime
• 2 ounces dark rum (recommended: Goslings Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum)
• 10 ounces of ginger beer (recommended: Milligan's Island Tropical Mango Ginger Beer)
• Lime wedge, for garnish, optional
Directions
Fill a 12-ounce glass with ice. Squeeze the lime wedge over the ice in the glass. Drop the wedge into the glass. Pour the rum into the glass. Add the ginger beer. Stir lightly and garnish with another lime wedge, if desired.

 

Wow Rick...you were not kidding. I finally made my way to Bevmo today, picked up a bottle of Goslings and made a Dark N Stormy.

I used a Ginger Beer that I did not care for on its own...Jamaica's Finest Extra Spicy. However, paired with the Goslings Black Seal Rum and poured over ice, it was delicious and very refreshing. I am very tempted to have another.

 

I will have to pick up some limes over the weekend and see if it makes an improvement. I am definitely liking this drink. Perfect for a hot summer night.
