Im a member of SRP, and I post there. But, since finding this place i find that i never post there anymore and it kinda makes me feel like i have betrayed them. I feel since i dont use DE's, i dont fit in as well here, but i find that this place is easier to post about the whole process of wet shaving minus the blades more or less. In short I love coming here but feel a bit guilty
I dropped by B&B the other day just taking a look around and saw alot of familiar faces. Decided to just not mess around and stick here.
We have a lot straight shavers here, and the numbers are growing (all the guys are drooling over the straights). I'm glad you have decided to call TSD "home". That's certainly what I call it.
I visit the other boards... I was mainly at B&B and SMF before coming here, but I prefer this board most of all now. I just don't think the other boards can match the atmosphere we have here.
Hi, This is my first post also, and I also frequent the other boards but mostly SRP. I sort of stumbled across this board by accident doing a search on Floid, and this is what it threw up at me...........so there ya go. I do notice a huge amount of names from other boards, was there something I missed, and is this a splinter board of the others or what? I'm just confused as I really do spend so much time in the other forums, but I really seemed to have totally missed out on the formation of this group. Anyway it looks nice and friendly and has lots and lots of shaving info, so here I go again, one more window to keep open at work on my PC. Cheers John
Welcome to The Shave Den, John! Yes, we started as a splinter group from another forum. We seem to have attracted wayward shavers too though. All are welcome, and we are enjoying ourselves, and hope you will stick around and enjoy yourself too. Anyone else dizzy after that?
Hi JoAnna, Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to becoming part of this group, and having some fun along the way. Cheers John
One easy question, where it says insert title under my user name, where actually do I find that, I have looked but can't see for looking? John
SRP has a lot of really cool guys offering up a ton of wisdom. I don't much hang there anymore, but that's another story. B&B is also a wealth of info, but it seems to be a place to get swallowed up rather quickly. It could be my imagination, but it seems that a long thread over there is one with more than 10 posts. Interest seems to die off quickly. I've also noticed that the participation over there is not spread evenly amongst the 500 or so visitors each day. I'm not particularly fond of the person who reaps the benefits of such a place and then refuses to participate. I believe everyone has something of value they can share with others, even if they have to "google" it. I like this place. It would be nice if it had a little more activity, but that could have something to do with the weather. Hopefully, it'll pick up and wind up as busy as the other two forums.
I too visit a couple of places and try to contribute when I can but this place above all makes me feel warm and fuzzy!
I have to really agree....this place has some helpful people..and it gives you the...i want to come back atmosphere.
