Perfect in every way, most likely never used Toggle

Hey Guys,

I shared this on B&B and thought you guys would appreciate it as well:

I went into an antique shop today and went through the same routine. "Hello sir, can I help you find anything?" "Sure, I'm looking for any shaving stuff, straight razors more than anything." He took me around the shop and pointed out the booths that would most likely have 'shaving stuff', I said thanks, and started looking around. A few minutes later he yelled out from behind the desk, "I know you are looking for straights, but we just closed out an estate and the guy had a safety razor that looks like he got it as a gift and just threw it in a drawer. Are you interested in looking at that?," he asked. "Sure," said I.

He brought it over to me and I couldn't believe what I was looking at! This thing is like brand new! I hope you like.

Very nice, but that's not a NOS Toggle. The Toggles didn't come with a 20 pack of blades, I believe they had a 10 pack. Are there instructions and a warranty card?

There's a blade inside!!

NOS = New Old Stock and should be unused without a shred of doubt.

Welcome to this place, and thanks for those pics and the nice story that went with em. Always fun walking in on a deal like that out of the blue. Heh, you able to bring yourself to actually shave with the Toggle? They do provide an interesting experience, unlike most other Gillette adjustables. For one thing, those weigh a LOT more than the others.

I know you've been a gentleman and haven't mentioned what everyone's probably been thinking. In this case though, I think it would complete the fantasy buy thread. May I ask what the heck you paid for this little jewel? No problem if you'd rather not say.....totally up to you. I have a number in mind, based on how you acquired the razor, and would hope it would be in the ballpark. If so, it would be a magical ending to an already good story.

I don't know about the 10 vs 20 pack blades, and it sounds like you don't know for sure either. I can tell you 'beyond a shred of doubt' that this razor has never been used. The blade that's in it, is the blade in the last pic. I think we could all agree that the blade has never been used. I, however, will not argue semantics, and if you don't want to call it NOS, that's fine. I'm not selling it anyway, so it matters not to me.

 

I've always felt it to be in bad form to talk about price, but to give you a ballpark, it cost me about what a shaver quality, uncased Fatboy would sell for. Does that help complete the story? :happy005

 

BTW. A page from the instructions showing that indeed it did come with a 20 blade pack.

Yes..........that is the perfect answer and thank you. I agree with you about the price being a touchy subject sometimes, but when purchased the way you did it only adds to the pleasure of the whole thing. You were thoughtful not to mention what you paid in your previous posts, and I appreciate that. Heh, it's also right around the number I would have guessed.

Where's the instructions and warranty card? All NOS razors will have those. No NOS razor comes with a blade inside

I have doubts. It's not NOS

 

Then what would you call it? As new, Like new, Never used, Perfect in every way? I would be happy with any of those if you are not comfortable with NOS.
