My Favorite SC in a tube is porbobly the MusgoReal. It has been a constant in my arsenal, the one I am never without.
I would love to try Musgo and Proraso as I've never used either of them, however, my den is so full... seriously... I would actually feel guilty buying one of these products. At least until I get through something I'm not going to want to replace right away. My favorite cream right now is Acqua Di Parma, and I really can't see that changing anytime soon. The more I use it the more I love it.
If I had to recommend a cream to someone starting with wet shaving, I'd go with one of the following: Palmolive Classic (Euro) Nivea Mild Body Shop (either new or old, depending on what's on sale) C&E (whichever scent is preferred) I'd look for creams based on: a) Affordable price / locally available b) Low chance of sensitivity/mild on skin c) Ease of lathering d) Reasonable performance When I introduced a friend to wet shaving recently, what I did was to give him a few samples to try, along with an idea of the pricing, and the availability.
well iv only tried 2 kinds. the first one i got was the Classic brand soap ($5..yes thats why i got it. lol) then i went with TOBS. the Classic brand i cant get a good lather very easily. in fact i cant say i ever got a good lather from it but from all my reading i guess im not getting enough soap in my brush..so ill try again. as far as TOBS....deff. my fav. i have the Mr. Taylor sent and its very nice. nice and thick and gets a lather very easily. at least for me. so TOBS all the way!
Totally agree... I've tried a LOT of creams, and KMF is as good as any. Another big plus for a newbie is it lathers extrememly easily, IME. I have some of the now discontinued Jasmine scent, which is heavenly... rationing that. shave well Drew
Given how subjective and personal most everything to do with wet shaving is, I'm not so sure you can nail it down to just one cream that will be enjoyed by all newcomers - both because there are SO many experienced opinions... and so many newcomers with unique tastes and needs (like they say, you can please some of the crowd some of the time but you can't please all of the crowd all of the time). I'd say your best bet would be to make a poll that offers the 8 or 10 creams that seem most popular - either based on most common appearance in threads or from those that have high ratings by many reviewers in the review section as selections. Then, take the top three winners of the poll and post them as the 3 most likely candidates for new shavers. At least that way new DE wet shavers (like me) will know which cream is first, second, and third most recommended on average by experienced users as a good starting place.
Impossible, the truefitt & hill so far has beat anything I have ever tried including MWF, Musgo, Proraso, AOS , Taylors etc.
