For my 2000th post, I'm not going to wax eloquent about my past Shave Journey. It hasn't been that long since my 1000th post and we don't need to travel the same stretch of road twice. Instead, I'm going to talk about some shave property I acquired on my travels and some of my building and development I've been doing. On this property, I've been steadily building pyramids of shaving products and knowledge while on this forum and I'm about to reach an inspection point. Knowledge is something you never stop acquiring so the work will continue while I finish inspecting. I must say this forum has made my project quite interesting so far. So, before I reach the next inspection point, I'm going to re-evaluate what I have acquired and make my load a little easier. Buying shaving items is kind of like the RPG games on Playstation. To win the game, you have to pick up stuff and figure out what you need the most to move forward. You can sell it, trade it or use it depending on the circumstances. In the end, there is only a handful of key items that you really, really need to have success. Knowledge and technique being part of the key strategies. Oh sure, you can do it with any number of things but, if you have the right combination you can be almost invincible. I found that out the hard way after 60 hours of Dragon Quest VIII and had to take on the Dark Steel Dragon. Talk about humbling. I have started to add notes to my Shave Locker items for anyone to read. These are the hieroglyphics on the pyramid walls. They are strictly IMHO and YMMV. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I have a short list of "to add" things and a growing list of phase outs. Some items I will use up and discard, some I will designate for trade or sale, some I will update with a number if I have duplicates, some I am going to simply trash because they really suck, and others are going to make the Magic List. The Magic List are those items that for me make shaving seem like a bit of magic. You climb the pyramid, use some magic and get transported to shave realm Nirvana. No human sacrifices required. Maybe a little blood sacrifice but I try and keep it to a minimum. Right now I have a bunch of scaffolding, a whole bunch of building materials lying around and the beginning of a foundation. My job before the next inspection will be to complete the foundation and have a few levels in place. Some of the building blocks will be interchangeable or movable to accommodate flexibility requirements but in the end I should have something I can be proud of. So, the road continues but I've stopped to put up a monument to my personal shaving experience and a place to come to when I want to rest. Now, if I can just keep the barbarians from crashing the gate and the hordes from coming over the walls. Otherwise, the pyramid ends up being my tomb and I take everything with me into the afterlife. That is if the grave robbers don't get it first.
Nice post! Interesting twist on the milestone type of post. You missed your calling as an architect, didn't you? Seriously though, great idea to keep updating your Locker as you evolve.
Thanks, I'd never make it as an architect but I do love looking at home plan books. I'll post my dream home plan one of these days.
I just looked at my Stash post, and it definitely needs some updating. I think I'll remove the pics (since most of them are no longer correct) and go to the running list of items... seems to lend itself to being updated much easier.
excellent read, if you read between the lines you will know what he means, I have been there worn the T-shirt but I can also warn you the danger of AD'S are lurking in very dark corners to catch up with you when you least expect it. Rock on !
Ya, I noticed but, I've already lapped you twice. You need a faster horse. Besides, Rick's got you beat by 3 posts. It will be a photo finish to see who gets to 1000 first.
rofl:rofl :happy001 :happy001 :happy001 No offense, buddy, but that is some really funny stuff. I singled out my favorite lines above, those could easily be moved to the joke section. On a serious note, there is definite truth to what you have said here, thanks for putting it together in a good read. And thanks for your input :happy088 Us wetshavers should be required to recite this 10x before clicking the "buy" button
Thangs ....... ************** Congrats again, Rich. Great post. And I have no idea about the game you referenced......
