I was discussing shaving methods with a close friend and he said he rubs ice on his face after the cold rinse. Do any of you guys do that?
I do... It's quite chilly but works really well... Splash the a/s on after the ice and it feels great!
Based on Minnesota winter logic, i'd be afraid that if you stuck an ice cube to your wet face it would stick!
not yet....I read someone saying such earlier this week - possibly you - and plan to try it, seeing as it's summer here in Texas, and we have hot water coming from both taps
The best cold water rinses I've had were in Germany when I was assigned there. The cold water really was COLD. Being in FL now, it's not so much. Maybe bringing ice water into the bathroom will get me that brisk & bracing feeling rinse once again.
Never tried ice cubes. Or a penguin, for that matter. Our city water starts to run a bit warmer come late spring. I keep a .5 liter bottle of water in the fridge. I rinse with the tap water, then follow with splashing on the ice water. I'm with Tom - the cold, icy water feels great!
I can highly recommend using an ice cube after shaving. It can actually be very soothing and refreshing. I first used ice after a bad experience using Dorco blades and it really calmed my skin. With Proraso pre and post cream it can get interesting! ________ Kawasaki ZN1100B
I've tried using ice water, and I find that it is particularly refreshing after using a menthol shave soap/cream
lol This reminded me of Winter Camp, the Bathrooms where 20+ yards from the cabin, at 6am if you werent the first cabin you were not getting hot water..ahh nothing like a couple splashes of almost frozen ice water to wake up in the morning! Feels like god came down personally and slapped me!:happy102
I use cold tap water. In the winter, its almost the same as ice! I shower-shave, so the cold water rinse is actually the last 10-15 seconds of my shower. I only wish the water were that cold in the summer! I might have to give an ice cube a try...
