    Hot towel
    Musgo Real Pre-Shave
    C&E Almond Oil SC
    Vulfix 2234 Super Badger
    Merkur 38c
Feather Day 4 (Lat run for this blade, starting to feel more like a Merkur)
    Target Witch hazel
    Royall Muske

Chucked the blade after this shave. Still a good shave, but a little bit of grabbing and I could tell the next would not be so pleasant.

    Cheers,
    Colin

    Tuesday:

    Simpson Tulip 3
    Truefitt & Hill Lavender cream
Gillette HD Rocket with Swedish Gillette blade
Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel w/alcohol; TSD Lavender Milk
    Knize Forest

Today was shave three with the Swede. I've found that, for me, the Swede kind of hits a sweet spot at day three. For the first two days, it might be just a tad sharp for my skin.

  8. Hi there Rodd,

I used one those those Milady/Norfolk razors about a month ago, and the thing almost kilt me! Sheeesh, it's one of the most aggressive open comb types I've used(that's saying a lot), and one day was plenty.....heh.

Man, I wish I knew how some of you guys can do that. Such a nice looking razor too.......sigh.

Really? That surprises me. Do you know if it was a NEW head, New Improved, or NEW DeLuxe? Did it have the flat base plate like the one in this picture, or posts, or a ridge?
I consider the New DeLuxe and New Improved fairly gentle shavers, so I am surprised to hear you had a rough experience. Have you tried a different blade combination?

    • Soap:My Time Bath and Body menthol
    • Brush:Burma boar
    • Razor:1947 Superspeed
    • Blade:Astra (Shave #3)
    • A/S: Coyote's WH Blend followed by Osage Rub

Typical superspeed shave... stubble and possibly mild irritation. I can use open combs and aggressive razors every day of the week. But super speeds just don't work for me.

    Ming Shi TTO/Sharp day 3
    Cerrus-SC :drool
    Schlecker Pferde-Menthol balm :anifrozen
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Floris Santal-EDT

I shaved really fast this morning, and I'm surprised at how I didn't cut off half of my face. This Cerrus cream is so cheap in Germany, and so good. I love the lather and the scent, as well as the menthol effect it gives. Talking about menthol, this Schlecker Pferde balm is super-frigid! ;) :D

    1912 Gem Jr. Fat Handle
    Williams Soap
    Dickinson's WH
    Corn Huskers Lotion
    Clubman Bay Rum

Great shave with lots of good tunes too Santana, Rolling Stones, Doobie Brothers, and Chicago to name just a few. In the end though, I kinda had to give the game ball to this one:

Another first today using an Astra SP blade. Very nice indeed and now I understand all the positive comments on these blades.

If GFT's Rose smelled more akin to UK Yardley's English Rose bath soap or T&H's Rose SC, we'd be talking TNT ;)
