    hello everyone,

i really like my boar brushes a lot and usually face lather with tabac soap.
But since the big tabac bowl is not really handy when traveling i want to try shave sticks, especially the palmolive one, its very cheap here in germany.
My question is, how do you best use them with the boar brush ?
Maybe soak the brush and wet the face (wet the shave stick too ?)
And then, do you just rub the shave stick against the face and then face lather with the boar brush ? or maybe scrub the brush against the shave stick to load the brush with soap and then face lather ??

    greetings from germany

I think either of them work well. What I do is wet my face and the top of the shave stick rub it on my stubble then use the brush to build the lather. You have to play with how wet the brush is to get the best lather for you.

I love my Palmolive, although I did mill it into a container. I still have a Erasmic shave stick that I use some.

I've only used Speick and Arko as a stick. The Arko stick I only used a couple times as it was too messy with just the foil wrapper. The Speick is very easy to lather when apply the stick to my face and face lathering. I find it hard to load a brush on a shave stick, so don't try this. I smashed my arko stick into a little tin and use that or the Speick when traveling.

Sounds like you have it sorted already.

I soak my brush while in the shower. After face prep I rub the stick over my whiskers & then I pick the brush up, bristles down, allow all the water that wants to to run out of it, it will be a bit of a trail & error but startnig off will less water is better, you can always add more. Then face lather away.

I usually do both, that is, I both rub the stick on my face and whip the brush over the stick quickly to 'saturate' it with lather before going to the face. I find that doing this I can build lather more quickly because the brush does not absorb as much of the soap that is already on the face, but just distributes it, as it should.

Palmolive is a fantastically good shaving soap, and it was the first I ever tried.
