This razor weighs 85 grams and heavier then the 11C. I did have(sold it) the 2009 Muhle R41 open comb. Beautiful razor but much lighter then the iKon and 11C.

    Best shave
    iKon Bulldog
    Merkur 11C
    Muhle R41

Thanks magic, thats really helpful!I like heavy razors and the Ikon seems to have the perfect weight and length for me.

I just got mine too. Wonderful shaver. The thing that stands out is how smooth the shave is. The design seems to reduce tugging compared to my 38c, even with a fresh feather in each. This is an excellent shaver.

    Cheers,
    Colin

Compared to what some(I mean all) women have in their closets you have to ask yourself whats a couple of razors:happy102

Had my first shave with mine this morning and I like it. Nicely finished (not flawless, but very nice) and very smooth. Aggressive, but not too aggressive. Had an Astra blade in mine.

The Astra works great but now take it a step further and use the ultimate that was made for this razor F E A T H E R

Enjoy the Bulldog Spindles - not sure when or if I will ever make those time consuming monsters again.

Here is a sneak peak at my next style of open comb head "The iKon Deluxe" - the pictured draft is a reverse engineering blueprint

Really working hard on these and hope to offer a totally superior finished product soon.

Christmas is coming up and my wife is wondering what to get me. Just maybe an Ikon is in the future. NO...one is on the list and I'll make sure she checks it twice.

The drawing looks like an open comb slotted design instead of 3 pins;)

I'm glad I grabbed one of the Spindles. Easily the best razor I've shaved with and I'm still getting used to it. I can only imagine how tough these are to manufacture...

    Ikon Spindle type

I've had one for a few months. It doesn't even have an Ikon icon on it. I get beautiful shaves with it. Only problem I ever had was with a Derby that I did not make sure was centered. Derbys are the widest blade out there and give more blade exposure. Now I don't use Derbys in it anymore. Instead I am currently using Astras and making sure they are centered. This works great.
Can't wait to score one of the short comb New types.
