1. So I pretty much know how to use a hard soap, but I just got some Proraso soap which is kinda on the soft side. Does anyone use it differently? I find that if I do about 20 "swirls" of the brush on the tub, and then transfer that to a bowl works well. What do you guys do with softer soaps??
  2. I treat the soft soaps like a cream. For Valobra or Cella I take a kidney bean sized piece of soap and then bowl lather. It usually produces enough lather to shave an army.
  3. I really don't treat it any different than hard soaps.
I just swirl the brush over the top till I feel like I have enough, then start slathering on my face, if I need more water or soap, add/swirl as appropriate.
  4. Same here :happy088

Proraso was my "weapon of choice" for many years, and I just swirled the brush through the tub untill I thought I had enough soap. Then on to the face lathering.

Now I primarely use hard soap, but haven't changed my routine.....
  5. Tom,
I usually load the brush in the tub and face lather, adding water as needed. I've also used the method Bullgoose speaks of and found it works just as well. I just have a preference for face lathering.

  6. FAce lathering would be my choice also
  7. +1
  8. That's how I do it.
  9. just bought some Valobra so thats good to know.
  10. I would agree with Bong here. I do not have proraso but I do have Omega.. I use it just the same as the harder stuff.
