Sorry, if this has been asked before, I tried searching and didn't come up with the answer I was looking for. I'm looking for a nice mild shave and have heard the Superspeed Blue Tip or the Tech both give mild shaves suitable for a beginner. My question, is if you had to choose one for a beginner, what one would give the milder, beginner-friendly shave? Thanks in advance.
I've never used a super speed blue tip. I have used other super speeds and I've also used a range of techs. I would recommend a tech. They're easy to use, mild, and easy to clean up. Not to mention, they're extremely common so you can find one for cheap or even free.
Unless you have a very, very soft and mild beard...You have to go with the Tech....The blue tip is great for light beards or young gents just starting to mow the ol' peach fuzz off. BTW...the tech works well even on tough beards...I use a fat handle tech often...I have a pretty heavy beard that has gone more gray than not...the tech does a fine job!!!! cc
Thanks for the replies. I'll have to keep an eye out for a Tech. The only ones I see on Ebay are going for like $20-30. Is that too much?
depends. are you looking for something that's basically new and comes with the original case? If so, $20 to $30 is reasonable. if you're looking for an ugly yet functional unboxed tech, then you can find one for less than $10. A decent looking unboxed tech should go for between 10 and 20. I'd recommend you stay away from ebay. You might try posting a want to buy (WTB) in the classifieds on this site. Someone will have a tech for a reasonable price.
I didn't either!...but if they have a fat handle tech...get that one!! Same head...most prefer the fat handle to the smaller ball end. cc
I find the Tech to be quite mild. I've never used a Blue Tip but I do have a Black Tip and find it to be quite mild as well.
I found the Blue Tip to be extremely mild. Almost like a Weishi. The Tech is a perfect razor for a new wet shaver.
