Does anybody know Sallye Ander? Recently I came over her homepage http://www.sallyeander.com/ Looks nice. They have shaving soaps, too. http://www.sallyeander.com/subcat7.htm Any info would be appreciated.
I've never heard of them, and I tend to be a little cynical and critical about non-mainstream online vendors. That site, they don't give much detail of their products. Their slogan hits me wrong. Cause I ain't never heard of them, and I'd bet that most people haven't. So obviously they AREN'T the best soap in America. And their description of the rose garden bath soap, you mean to tell me they are growing roses themselves to use in their soaps??? I doubt that. Just my thoughts, but I could be wrong.
I don't want to knock anyone elses product. But I have to agree with JoAnna. Does sound a little over top and would cost a whole lot more for that type of oil. But if anyone has tried it, let us know.
Professional opinions are always welcome. If you had said that the company and their products were nothing but trash then you'd be stepping over the line.
How about sellers? Or do you not frequent eBay. I agree with you. Although I'm not sure if know that guy that runs BarberCulture too well. Just kidding!!!! Great guy and products at that company. I'm sorry though, I do not know the Sallye Ander.
I never go on ebay to buy shaving gear, Rich, and that guy who runs Barber Culture has more class than I can ever hope to have!
I'd be willingly to try these soaps if I didn't find the website so appalling. The lack of info bothers me a good deal.
I asked because this is an natural soap you can get here in Germany. The soap is from the States and so I wanted to know if some of you know it. I agree the website has not very much info but the german site where you can buy the soap has even less. Thanks for your opinions ::
I don't think many people have heard of this soap company, but you can give it a few more days, and see if anyone has, that hasn't seen the thread yet.
I use Sallyeander soap Picked up a cake of this at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. I use the Sensitive skin Oatmeal bar and it works just fine. It does take a minute or tow to work up a decent lather but that could be the hardness of my water. Other wise it shaves fine and smells pretty good too. It is a little pricey for my tastes but by the looks of the bar it should last a very long time.
This is the first I've heard of the "best soap in America". I just don't like when a company advertises, that their product is better than anything else out there.
I'm glad I found this, maybe late, but there is a thread about this. I visited a local framers/antique market today where have a lot of local crafted soaps, candles, etc. I found this shave soap and figured what the heck. 10 bucks, how can I go wrong. The good thing is I didn't. Yeah 10 bucks is a little over priced compared to others I have seen. I tried the patchouli and frankincense, and as mention in an earlier post, it does take a bit to get a lather. Even after taking the brush to my face the lather seemed to disappear. However the razor did glide across my face with ease. With that all that being said, I do have little experience with soaps, and am starting to venture out away from creams to try something new. Overall I didn't think this brand of soap has really all that bad. Not the best in America as they advertise, but not bad. Now, on to the next shave.
Since it seems nobody here has heard about or used the SallyeAnder shaving soap, why not try some and post a review here? Or maybe the proprietor could be persuaded to become a supporting vendor? The more the merrier!
Oh wow. Never thought I'd read about one of the small local businesses near me on here! I've never tried any of their shave soap but I do know they make good soap in nice scents. Never crossed my mind that they might have shave soap. Expect a review in a few weeks when I get my lather technique down a little.
