I'm a total noob to wet shaving. Just last week I got my setup... (tried to put a pic here, unsucessfully, instead I copied the list below...) Colonel Conk Evernice Model 775 Chrome Safety Razor Stand Merkur Classic Safety Razor, Straight - (34c HD) Tweezerman Men's Shaving Brush PRORASO Shaving Cream 5.2oz/150ml DE Blade Sampler Pack, Extended (DE Blade Sampler Pack, Extended) Col Conk Styptic Pencil & Witch Hazel + Nieva aftershave I've only shaved twice so far. My second shave was a lot better than the first, but it's a learning process. I do have some razor burn on the neck and hope it'll go away fast. I hope the learning process is a quick one....don't want to mess up the grill to much! This site, Mantics videos, and another forum seem to be good resources. I will be a slave to the Gillette corporation no longer, I can't wait to get this whole thing down. Have a nice day!!!

Welcome aboard the shave train. From all indications, it sounds/looks like you are off to a promising start. Your shaving kit looks good. Saw you purchased a sample pack of blades. My only comment on blades would be, if you value your face/grill, stay away from the Merkur blades. Their blades are not well liked by most posters. Very problematic(IMHO). Work on your technique then work on your technique ... Good luck and keep us apprised of your progress. We all love hearing success stories.
