I'm very much a lurk in the background kinda guy and don't like to post on line at any site unless I feel my comments have substance and real value. But this seems like such a friendly and tolerant group I decided to push aside my initial reluctance and say a few words. Guess I could be described as a re-newbie because I've recently returned to wet shaving after a lengthy hiatus. Took only a few days to (re-)develop a decent technique and now am in the middle of a fun experiment to find "the best" options (brush, soap, cream, razor, blade, etc.). Thus far I'm pretty much convinced, because the answers definitely seem personal to each individual, that several combinations of all the variables work essentially the same for me. So I guess I'll have to learn to deal with many "bests." Of course that offers variety and the pleasure of changing off from time to time to keep things interesting. At the moment I'm getting great results with a Futur at setting 2, a Treet Dura Sharp blade, a Rooney Best Badger brush with Tabac soap, and ordinary Dickenson's Witch Hazel. But that surely will change next week!
Welcome to The Shave Den! A great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay!
