It's been a while since I've used my Ming Shi razor, but I still find it delivers very nice shaves for me. I really enjoy this Gatsby cream--the lather is very rich and easy to create, it smells pleasant, and it has a good cooling and soothing effect. ;) :D

    Wednesday Shave

    Wednesday, November 25, 2009

    Razor: Futur
    Blade: Gillette Indian Wilkinson
    Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Badger
    Soap/Cream: Erasmic cream
    A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/Ogallala Bay Rum

A fine BBS shave this morning. I’m liking the Indian Wilkinson more and more and the Erasmic cream also performed wonderfully. I think Erasmic is an under-appreciated cream. I like its latherability, I like its scent, I like its performance--what’s more to like? OK, the tube is fairly plain looking and does not contain any information about royal warrants, and it doesn’t have a large diameter cap that would allow the tube to stand on end. Otherwise, it works just fine for me.

The Ogallala Bay Rum was a great follow up to this shave.

    Muhle R89/ Astra Superior
    Omega Boar
    Tabac SS
    Burt's Bees AS
    TSD Iced Blue Juniper Splash

A DFS to start the day. I picked up the Omega from Em's Place about 3 months ago -- Its a banded boar with a Red resin handle -- but it will rival my badgers in softness with just the right amount of backbone.

    Razor: Gillette Diplomat
    Blade: Iridium Super
    Brush: Rooney SMF 2007
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Speick Shave Stick
    A/S: Speick Aftershave Splash

Wow! The Speick Shave Stick created a very nice slick and protective lather while the Diplomat/Iridium combo effortlessly mowed down the stubble. I generally am not a fan of Gillette TTO razors but the Diplomat is definitely an exception. I love this razor! :D The Speick Splash provided a nice and appropriate finish.
