Who else plays? I would love to see pics of your axes!! Also -- what types of music do you play on it/them?
Sweet collection, are those two in the middle Les Paul's? I don't play, but I am getting my very first bass for Christmas this year, I am super excited.
WOW........ :drool That's a sweet looking collection :happy096 Love guitars, but am not a player myself. According to my music teacher it would be better for the music community Now I stick to my Blues Harps.....
I've an Epiphone Les Paul as well; right-handed version though. Unfortunately I don't have a camera handy so I can't post a picture. I play several styles (none really well, though ) but mainly some rock & blues.
I play a bit I play, and here are most of mine--though a couple of these have gone. I'm mainly playing acoustic now, but the electrics get some action. I really don't get the chance to play so much these days. From left, Larrivee C-05, Ovation Cutom Baladeer '71, Takamine cheapie with a great cedar top, and an Almansa with a cedar top. Then a Hamer 335 copy, a frankenstein Yamaha tele copy, a great Hamer solid body, a quirky model Gibson SG, and a magical Mexican Fender Strat. My favorites? The Larrivee and the Strat.
As one of the 3 guys from that show Pawn Stars..Les Paul's during the 1960's today if sold are worth ALOT of moolah!!...FYI..a guy who thought he had a 1960's was really a 1970's which was checked out by an expert on the show..apparently Les Paul guitars in the 1960's were crafted as 1 piece..whereas in the 1970's they were molded from 2 ek.310
I have an Epiphone G-400, a Mexi Strat, Tele knockoff, and an Ibanez RG. I play mostly Neo-Classical noise, and every once in a while something that could be loosely construed as music... but I have fun doing it!
I've got Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Love this girl. Also own Hohner Rockwood Pro strat (not using) and acoustic Jumbo Williams W-3000.
I have always liked the look of the sunburst / starburst finishes but I have to admit that the black finish is SHARP! Love the contrast with the pickguard. Does anybody have experience with both the Gibson and Epiphone Les Pauls? If so, what are the major differences? I have never been able to pull the trigger on the Gibson. Might be easier to justify the purchase of an Epiphone.
The difference between Epi and Gibson is the difference between Chevy and Cadillac. The Epi is a fine guitar, and with some upgrades (electronics are the weakest point, IMO) they can actually rival Gibsons. Wood is another big difference, with top quality being used in Gibson, and lesser and cheaper wood in the Epi's. For me, an Epi is more than enough, but I wouldn't miss a chance for a Gibson if I could afford it.
I'm not such a professional musician. Just have a crush on beautiful things: guitars, motorcycles. I used to play in a band. And since then I also have a guitar AD. @Beer League Hack: here is yours beloved sunburst finish on the Hohner: Whole collection: Both are made with axe Gibson has better wood and electronics I believe, as it was already said. But I like the chrome tuners better than pearl one on all Gibsons
