    Greetings,

Recently I got my grubby mitts onto a Gillette NEW Razor...

and After doing a bit of searching it seems there is no way to accurately date the NEW!

    Is this correct?

The ones without all the patent dates on the bottom are later dates then those that do and the brass caps are later then the copper caps.

So what you are saying is that this one that I have is an early 1930's model then, correct?

I have a NEW that looks identical to the one pictured.
On mine the whole on the bottom guard feels too big for some reason and you have to align the thing just right to get the blade even
I don't care for that design so I use my Old Type which fits perfectly without fiddling with it.

Odd, mine is perfect... shaved with it for the first time New Years Eve... got a seriously great shave.... shaved my head with it too!

Maybe the blade you are using is a fault?

I use red Personna's... love me.. perfect for me and just work!

    Enjoy!

You might have the wrong handle for your head.
Sounds like you have a big gap head and a small tipped handle.
Usually the NEW align in a very secure manner, with the center bar and the 4 corner notches aligning the cap.
