I have noticed my wife eyeballing my SuperSpeed. So we have talked a bit about wetshaving for her. Problem is we have very little space in our bathroom. Our Shower is not much bigger than a phone booth in a separate enclosure than the tub and the tub is in need of major repair that our landlord has been putting off since we moved in. What advice can I give my wife on shaving it tight spaces or is it even wise to use a DE where there is no space.
Oh, boy, not sure I can help you with this one. Hopefully one of the other gals can, or perhaps one of the guys with a wife that uses a DE. My only thought is; I've never been in a shower that you can't get "out" of the water stream. Even a stall shower. How does your wife shave now?
She uses goo and the Venus cartridge. What do you use - for some reason I thought you used a DE. I may have under stated the size of the shower, it may be one and a half phone booths. I can tell you there is no getting away from the stream of water that is for sure. She complains heavily about it being so small. I want to fix the tub myself but work is slow right now and I just can't swing it. Maybe in the summer.
Ohhh my bad. She shaves in the shower - she is telling me that she does not think she can shave out of the shower.
Ok, that's what I figured. Well, I'm a firm believer (and I could very well be wrong, of course) that if you can shave in the shower with a cartridge and goo, you can with a brush, soap/cream, and DE razor as well. As long as there is shelf space. A mug/bowl isn't necessary. Just build the lather directly on the skin. Either way, it doesn't hurt to give it a try.
How about a small folding stool, so that she can sit outside the shower with her legs in? Just a thought goshawk
confront landlord about crappy state of your tub...or have your lawyer contact him or Fix tub yourself Either way, you'll be your wife's hero (and allow her to have a much more enjoyable experience shaving). ________ PA50
I have made this suggestion to her and I think she will give it a go but you nailed it the problem is no shelf space. I have to revise my revised guess on the size of the shower - it really is the size of a phone booth - maybe even a touch smaller. This is a good thought I will make that suggestion as well. This is a touch subject. The landlord is a jerk and is going through a divorce and says he does not have the extra cash to remodel our bathroom. Since the shower works - he is still OK with the law - at least I think - I really do not have the extra fund for a lawyer. The tub itself needs to be replaced and there really is no surround for it. Just regular sheetrock walls - no tile. I am trying to find a cheap replacement for the tub and then do maybe a half high tile surround. - one day.
some suggestions As a female, I can sympathize with your wife. Our shower is also a phone booth and a half. I am also 6 feet tall. But here are some ideas. 1. Turn the water on very warm and turn it way down so it only drizzles out the shower head onto her back (this is what I do). This keeps it from splashing too much and making the lather go down the drain. It isn't so easy getting up and down all the time, but it does work. 2. sit on the sink counter and stick your feet in the sink itself. 3. Or, if she is like me and tall, stand at the sink and lift her foot into the sink so she can shave in it. I have done all of these, but am hoping to find a small chair for the shower....or maybe a new shower? LOL (not happening). Good luck Patricia
