First off Hello all. I just joined the forum after reading on here for awhile.
I just scored my first treasure chest find at a local antique shop.

5 Gillette Razors (I think I my dates and figures are correct. If not please correct me)
    1. 1951 Gillette Super Speed, Black Tip, Aluminum Handle
    Date Code W/3 1951 3rd quarter

    2. 1960 Gillette Tech Safety Razor w/ Logo, Solid ball end handle. Date Code
    F/2 1960 2nd quarter

    3. 1962 Gillette Adjustable Safety Razor, Slim, all metal. Has 1-9 blade
    settings. Date code H/2 1962 2nd quarter

    4. 1969 Gillette Adjustable Razor, Black Handle. Has 1-9 adjustment settings.
    Date code of O/1 1969 1st quarter.

    5. 1970 Gillette Super Speed, with black handle and silver tip. Date code P/1
    1970 1st quarter

got all for $39.00. Did I do good? are these good razors?

Just finished cleaning and polishing all razors. All excited about my first shave, BUT which one to choose first! AGH!!!

sol92258 I have no earthly idea

sounds like a great haul to me!

    got pics?

the black handle adjustable Gillette is quite possibly my favorite razor - there's a couple that are very close, and there's still a few razors out there I haven't tried yet :happy102

but ~$8 a piece, that's pretty darn good! Great job!

EDIT: as for which to try first, I'd recommend a mild shaver, and the Tech will fit that bill very nicely

Great bunch of guys, gals, and info 'round here. Have fun (especially trying to decide which razor to use first :D)!

    Welcome to TSD!

At $8/ea that's a good deal on the Tech and a GREAT deal on everything else. Superspeeds in good used condition typically fetch $12-20. Common model adjustables are typically $15-30.

I paid $60 for my adjustable.....it was minty though........still probably paid too much.....damn buy it now button kills the impatient folks such as myself...should call it the instant gratification feature
