Think I found my new go to shave soap. I recently purchased the Old Spice type tallow shave soap from Prairie Creations and have been really impressed with it. I've been using it for the last week and have gotten consistently good shaves with zero irritation. Anyone else have any experience with her soaps. I'm actually looking to try some more scents.:happy088

No experience but I'm glad to read this. I just ordered one of her soaps and some aftershave balm on Friday. Facial Blend.

The only downside to her soaps is that it's a little tricky to get the right soap to water ratio in order to get that thick, rich lather. Even though my first few attempts didn't have that ratio right, I was still able to get great bbs shaves. Hope you like the Facial Blend.

I've had wonderful performance with her soaps. Yes, the ratio is different. Try using Zach's method and see how that works for you. I started with that method and now squeeze out some water to start.

Well my Prairie Creations stuff got here and it's been getting a work out. I got the soap and the aftershave balm, both in the facial blend which contains Lavender, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint EOs. Good smell, great lather, luxuriously thick, good slickness and cushion. The aftershave balm (which is made from goat's milk) was wonderful. One day while using this soap I got way over aggressive with a couple spots on my neck. I knew while I was doing it that it was a bad idea but I was testing a new blade and it just wasn't shaving well. Anyway my neck was on fire afterward. The balm did a great great job with it and I felt no discomfort through a day at work in shirt and tie.

On a whim I also ordered a small jar of facial scrub with jojoba beads. Not sure why, I have never used anything like it before. Anyway this stuff is great. The jojoba beads are like a mild abrasive as you rub this into the skin and with the other ingredients makes for a very clean and good feeling skin. A little like using noxzema I guess but better IMO. One caveat - don't use it on sensitive skin. I scrubbed my neck with it and it made the skin angry and red. But it's great for my face. Maybe the cleansing cream that does not have the beads would be better if you have to be careful with your face.

I really like my PC soap. I have a EO lavender puck. It lather very well, but I have to load it a bit more than say Tabac or Arko. It also provides cushion and is very slick. One of my best. And a real bargain.

Sounds like a good one to try... This is the new recipe with lanolin-correct?

no, I have not tried the new lanolin version. I just noticed it on the site. The one or two comments I read are very positive. I wish someone would post a detailed comparison between PC lanolin and MWF. The first echo is that PC lathers better. A suivre.
