Several years ago I locked in on a soap made by Crabtree & Evelyn and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. I like it's lather and the way it nestles in my beautiful antique shaving mug.
It kept getting harder and harder to find and I finally called C&E and was informed it was no longer produced. They were kind enough to tell me who had last cleaned out their warehouse and I called them. I believe they were in FL. I purchased every last one they had. About 12. I am now down to my very next to last one and am wondering what I will do next. Any suggestions?
It was Crabtree & Evelyn Sweet Almond Oil and weighed 50 grams.about 2 and 1/2 inches in diameter.

Haven't had any experience with this product, but I'd recommend you try P160 from Superlather. It comes in a "soft" and a "semi-soft" version. I have the latter, and find the consistency to most resemble that of milled-down Valobra shave sticks. It has a fine almond scent, works up an excellent lather, and (best of all) is a bargain. Apparently, this is a "professional" product sold in kilo bricks. Mark breaks them into 100g blocks for $3!

I have Cella and all three variants of Valobra and, while I like all of them, I find the almond scent of P160 to be superior. Price-considered, it is (IMO), a no-brainer. I ordered more of what I have, plus some of the "soft" version, too.

Col. Conk makes a really nice almond shave soap. They are widely sold and reasonably priced, too.

Unfortunately NO but thanks for the information. My item is a small shaving soap about 2 inches in diameter.

    Duck,

You are indeed out of luck unless you run across some of it in the B/S/T Forums. C&E has made a big mistake discontinuing almost all of their men's line of shaving goods. I have a special affinity for the C&E SAO shave cream and have managed to acquire several jars of it from guys in the B/S/T forums in the past year. Have enough to last me several years as I do not use it on a daily basis. I will try to look out for any such soap as surf the forums. The least I could do for a guy who likes the nicest SAO scent ever made.

The only suggestion I can make is to get another triple milled shave soap. DR Harris and Trumper's both make an almond version. Those aren't real cheap (Harris ~$20, Trumper's ~$30), but should perform fairly close to the C&E soap. If you're willing to try other scents to save some money, the options open up a little more.

I agree with ChemErik. The chances of getting another few pucks of C&E soap are slim so I'd suggest you to look at the almond offerings from other companies. Personally I can recommend the one from D.R. Harris.

I think the most difficult thing would be to find a soap that fits your vintage mug. So the soaps have to be smaller than most soaps. Perhaps Golddachs (Rivivage) fits your needs.

Trumper has two newer soaps Officer and gentleman and Oxford Blue. Perhaps one of this fits your needs.

You can get Valobra Almond from many of the vendors on this and other forums. It's soft enough to mold into any shape container. I use it and like it.

Stefan, is the Rivivage really the same soap as the Golddachs, or are there any differences?
