Let's see those shaves for the week! Don't forget, this week is Proraso/Omega/Bigelow Week, so if you have some, break it out! Bonus points for pictures!
Monday, April 5th Looooooooooong hot shower (hey, its my day off ) Proraso ss Kent T8 Pure Badger Mühle R89 w/ Derby Extra De Vergulde Hand alum 444 ASB w/ Proraso splash
Monday Micromatic Proraso cream (not playing along with Proraso week, it's just part of the rotation). Ever-Ready brush Gem Open Comb Micromatic with Walgreens Gem Blade. As usual, that's all that's needed. No witch hazel or alum, no AS or ASB, and certainly no (shudder) cologne. DFS
Hot Shower Glycerin Pre-shave Imperial 5/8" Extra Hollow Semogue 2000 Palmolive Shavestick Mentholated WH/CHL Aqua Velva Classic Acqua Di Gio Looks like I've finally got the edge on this razor sorted out. After the initial hone, the shaves were just OK. I stropped it for a while, then finally after a so-so shave on Friday, decided to take it back to the hone. Apparently that was the ticket. BBS shave this morning and I think my neighbors could probably hear the feedback.
Monday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Triton day 2 Tet-a-Tet-SC :love008 :happy108 Visal-AS Gel :love008 :happy108 :anifrozen Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Versace L'homme-EDT I wouldn't call Tet-a-Tet cream :anifrozen but it still qualifies very well for a Menthol Monday Shave. The Visal gel is frigid, and not only that, it smells nice, and leaves the skin feeling great. BTW, I transplanted the Triton blade to my Super Speed, and it seemed to work much better.
Wolstenholme IXL 6/8ths wedge Omega boar brush Proraso Green s/s Draggon Noir a/s Malizia Vetyver e de t Bought a scuttle this weekend at an antique store up in Bruce County. First time out with it and it worked real nice. goshawk

Monday, April 5, 2010 Razor: Vintage Merkur Slant Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Irisch Moos Shave Stick A/S: GFT Curzon Cologne I skipped my shave yesterday so I had a nice two day stubble for the Slant to mow down, which it did with ease. I enjoyed an excellent BBS shave. I decided to use a relatively new acquisition post shave-the GFT Curzon, and have found another keeper.
Merkur Monday Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted Costa Rica Tarrazu, B-L-A-C-K Cream: C.O. Bigelow Brush: Ever Ready T-200 Razor: Futur @ 2.5 Blade: Dorco ST-301 Post: Cold water rinse, Brut ASB & AS 'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky Shave Rating: 5 Blades Very nice!
Monday Razor: Merkur HD Blade: Israeli Personna (3) Brush: Altese Bader Soap/Cream: CO Bigelow A/S: Aqua Velva
Sunday Evening: Pre: AOS preshave oil Soap: Williams SS Brush: Semogue 1305 boar Razor: '67 Slim Blade: Rapira (2) Post: Clubman AS Kept it old school... first time with Williams, i get why some might hate it, but i thought it worked pretty well. Not the most voluminous lather, but it had a nice creamy slip to it that worked quite well on my face. Given I had to use the less-than-efficient method of lathering directly in the soap bowl, but hey, it worked. Liking the Rapira so far, i'm still experimenting with the Slim settings, but so far i get the best results with a 2 pass shave, first pass WTG set to 5, and then a XTG set to 3, with a few touchups. Maybe not BBS, but DFS for sure.
SOTD Monday April 5, 2010 Razor: 5/8 Tiger Wedge (Geneva Circa 1920) Soap: Classic Shaving Lilac Mug: Vintage Old Spice Brush: Medium Badger ASB: Nivea Replenishing Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal :love055 Found this Tiger in an Antique Store and thought I'd give it a try. Got it honed pretty nice right now and it shaves great. I'm not really thrilled about the lack of feedback though. The hollow grounds are definately vocal and they let you know what you're doing. I think I like that; better than the scrapping meat sound of the wedge. Oh well, it's fun using something that's 90 years old and still works.
