I have switched blades, razors, and creams, and still am getting ingorwns after 2 months . Here is what I use: Weishi, Crystal Blade, Kiss My Face Cream, Simpson Brush, 2 North-South Passes, 1 XTG pass, warm water, cold water and Neutragena Post shave Lotion. Please offer suggestions!
Try that bump fighter range of products..could be your weishi razor doesn't get close enough to your skin OR try a few more passes..I have coarse n sensitive skin and always go 4 complete passes per shave
Try: Shaving WTG only for a while using more cold water after the shave, before putting on aftershave waiting a bit after putting on the cold water to put on the aftershave putting only an approximately nickel sized amount of aftershave on after the cold water, and nothing else over it. These are the only things I can come up with right now. The cold water suggestion and less AS suggestion comes from something I heard or read somewhere that said it takes a face a while to cool down and pores to completely close after a shave. The same place suggested putting only a minimal amount (as necessary) of AS on immediately after a shave (including the cool down) to prevent clogging of pores. Also, don't stretch your skin too much when shaving (though you probably already know that). Hope something I said helps (or at least is correct) Oh, and of course you can try changing the products you are using. I read somewhere that AS with salicylic acid can help. Finally, make sure your brush is well dried after a shave, as is your razor (Don't know where I read about this).
I would skip the XTG pass for awhile and just shave N to S. If that doesn't work I would try another blade. Maybe it's just me but certain blades give me ingrowns. Also watch the pressure and blade angle.
Maybe you could skip shaving for a little bit? Shave again when you don't have any ingrown hairs, it'd be like a clean slate and then change one thing in your routine at a time.
Might not be the same for you as it was for me, but my solution was/is less pressure. I've been DE/SE/Straight shaving for a long time. I don't press with straights, but sometimes do with DE and SE razors. Autopilot is good sometimes, but not always. HTH...
Less pressure !! sharper razor ! I'm not a scientist but...... For the hair to grow under the skin and hole its supposed to come out of it had to of been dragged out some way, cut, then left to go back in. If you ever pluck a hair from your face you will see there is a lot of it under the skin. If you ever pluck a missed whisker it will pull out some way before it give up and leaves your face. I suspect that each pass is tugging your stubble out of the root slightly until its cut and left to sink back under your upper dermis. A sharper blade will tug the hairs less. Less pressure is really important to. Imagine what the pressure does. It would push the skin out of the way and leave the hair stood proud, ready to sink back down and become and ingrown. Super sharp blades and less pressure will only help.
