    Master USA is on the list of brands to avoid on SRP, so I don't waste your money.

    Unfortunately I have already purchased the razor above.
    For the $12 spent, including shipping, I didn't think I would be getting much.
    No big loss
    Maybe make a pretty letter opener

    Imagine what it takes to forge high carbon steel, the time it takes to grind a perfectly flat and even bevel into that hunk of steel, then the time to assemble with decent scales, pin, and QC that whole process, and think for a sec if 12 bucks would cover the cost of that process... errr...not even close.

    That's why most production razors today start at around 100 bucks and move drastically upward for more quality materials.

    Unless this was an antique and you got yourself a deal I'd say then congrads but because it's not that old adage of "you get what you pay for." fits

    cheers

    Live and learn...

    Quoted...

    Brands of Straight Razors to avoid

    "The following information is based upon years of experience by highly experienced members and straight shaving professionals. The aim of this article is not to slander the razor manufacturers named therein, but to protect our members from paying good money for what we consider vastly inferior products.
    The following razor brands have shown to be, we feel, of consistently inferior quality:

    * "Best Quality"[1]
    * "Good Quality"
    * "High Quality"
    * "Special Quality"
    * "Two Man"
    * Cyrill R Salter[2]
    * Jacobs USA
    * Kriegar
    * Master
    * MasterUSA
    * "New School"
    * Pakistani (any razor made in pakistan)
    * Razors "designed by Jim Frost"
    * Sanguine
    * Selective Professional
    * Simco
    * Steel Warrior
    * Timber Rattler
    * Timber Wolf
    * Tomahawk
    * Venus[3]
    * Zeepk "

    Now I know

    gssixgun At this point in time...

    Just for clarification, some of those [1] lead to threads if the links were live...

    Some of those razors can be honed to shave ready, so if you already have them not all of them are total junk, some are on the list because of the price factor compared to say an entry level Dovo or even TI...Or the fact that the shave might not be so great, or the edge might not last that long...

    They are just not recommended BUYS

    However most on that list cannot be brought to a shaving edge at all, unfortunately the Master is one of those...

    Still, it would make a fantastic letter opener as you said Wyatt. Might even be good for scraping old gasket off engine parts.
