after two days of terrible shaves the Gem Jr. finally gave me the outstanding shave I've gotten used to. Both bad shaves with the Shark blade which has always been good to me. Hopefully that was one bad blade because I have about 50 more of those Sharks. Yesterdays shave was so bad I didn't even post it. I was also crazy busy.

Good Morning Everyone! It is another beautiful day in Florida, and another great shave!

    Hot Shower
    Hot Towel
    Williams Mug Soap
    VDH Boar
    Lady Gillette Blue
Gillette 7 O'clock Platinum Black Wrapper
    Wally World Generic Witch Hazel
    M&L Florida Water

Three Passes WTG, XTG, ATG = I am not too sure about the Gillette 7 O'clock Blacks...I got a good shave, but I think that I may not like these blades as much as I like the Derby's. Up next are the Blue Birds...

I like the Williams soap. I like the citronella smell and as long as I use a little extra water, this soap explodes with rich creamy goodness.

I bought the Lady Gillette Blue for SWMBO; but I had to try it first. This is a nice razor. Lots of heft, not too aggressive and I like the longer handle. I may need to get another one for myself...

    Cheers!

    Razor: Jaggerooney
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L
    Soap: Valobra Soft Soap (Almond)
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum Toner

Valobra is sometimes said to be similar to Cella. However, I think they are rather different. True, both are Italian and have an almond scent, although I find the scent of Valobra more distinct while still being light. I always feel that Cella provides more cushion; if I don't pay attention to what I'm doing while shaving with Valobra, the razor can bite. I don't think that has ever happened while using Cella. Both are excellent soaps, and I keep both in my rotation. Variety is part of the fun of wet shaving!

That said, this morning's shave was BBS with one tiny weeper, which was my own fault. The witch hazel and Ogallala Bay Rum provided a very comfortable finish.

I can't believe how well these razors shave straight out of the Box. It was a NOS blade, Stropped 30x linen, 30x Horsehide, and resulted in an amazing shave. Glad I picked it up before the prices went insane.
