I got 2 tubes of Arko from Bullgoose ( 1 Cool and 1 Moist ) last week, and today I got to try out the 'Cool'. I pretty much followed my standard procedure, and equipment loadout. Soak Tweezerman in hot water Shower Wash face Dry off Whip up Arko Cool Hot water prep on face Apply lather Shave with Lord Tech 3 piece razor + Iridium blade WTG XTG XTG opposite Touchup 3 mostly full passes, and a few touch-up spots. I still had enough lather for a few more full passes. I squeezed out about an inch of Arko to start off. 1/2 inch may suffice next time. The Arko was up to the test in every fashion. I even got a comment on how good it smelled from SWMBO, even though I thought the scent was a bit subtle. There were no adverse moments in the entire process, and my face was feeling fine many hours later. 2 thumbs up and I'd buy again.
I love the arko I really like the arko creams I have 4 different ones my self. My favorite are the cool and moist just because the scent. but I feel they are all good creams. the price is right as well. I usually follow your same process but I like to shake my brush pretty good and lather it up that way and just add a few drops of water if needed. have you tried the ERASMIC thats a good one too. the smell grows on you. its nice. you can get that one from westcoastshaving.com for less than 4 bucks! those iridium blades are champs in my book as well
I'm definitely going to order the full range when I get a chance. The price/performance ratio is extremely high with the Arko products.
It's all good Arko is good stuff. I have often wondered what was in other high end creams that made them worth so much more than the Arko level creams.
The aftershave/colognes are great--I used the Aqua this morning. It's very refreshing, and it smells awesome.
Thanks, Jeff. I'll pick some up on my next order. My wife has commented on the scent of the Cool cream so I may grab all the Arko cologne varieties I can find. BTW ... used the Arko Cool again this morning and it was great.
The Arko Extra Sensitive Aftershave cream is excellent. I use it whenever I have a harsher shave. eric.
I"d like to chime in too and add that I also have the cool sc and cool a/s. I love them and as earlier stated, the price to performance ratio is outstanding! The aftershave is top-notch too, you get a lot for $6! Just ordered the other 3 scents from Shave-a-buck along with more creams.
That, my friend, just happens to be one of varieties I ordered. Can't wait for it to arrive and try it out!
It has to do with Long Island having virtually no summer this year, only rain. Someone is marketing Arks to make some money.
The only thing I don't understand about the Arko creams is why they the Arko Cool cream "Cool", because there is no menthol in it. Aside from that, it's fantastic.
I believe they are going for a Davidoff's "Cool-Water" type of scent, at least it really reminds me of that...Do you think the Aqua is their menthol type AS ?...I think maybe it reminds me of Skin-Bracer, but its been so long since I smelled Skin-bracer in the flesh, I'm not sure...What do you guys think ??
My friend, you know what--the Aqua aftershave gel is very, very cooling and fresh feeling, with a delicious scent, just like the Aftershave/Cologne. I find however, no similarlity to the Mennen Skin Bracer scent.
